The turnout to protest mask mandates at the district board meeting was pathetic, given the amount of kids enrolled in TVUSD.

CA changed the law, so school attendance no longer drives funding. Funding is based on forecasted school enrollment using students enrolled at the start of 2019 as the baseline.

This SDU item is currently only for summer school and no announcement on the 2022-2023 school year has been announced. The pushback on SDU has been huge in the past 2 days and recall efforts for school board members have started.

As far as masks. When in Florida you would see someone wearing a mask every now an then. In TN it is almost a shock to see someone. When we were in El Paso we were surprised at how many people were wearing them. A lot of the servers at restaurants were wearing them. About half so it wasn't a requirement. They did seam to be more from the Hispanic people than other. Just an observation.

I don't envy you. The barrage of radical left ideology is a danger to children, and that combined with the very real war to eliminate free speech in America along with the climate change bullshit has placed our children's future in great danger.

I worry constantly about the things my 14 year old grandson is being exposed to.

i have 2 kids, daughter will be 4 in september and my boy will be 2 in august. luckily we have not had to explain anything to them yet. i am worried about it though. i dont know know else to tell you other than keep your head up and eyes open. my BIL's daughter (13yo) just told them last month she is "now gender fluid" and would like to be referred to as "they or them".

A lot can change very quickly.
But if your kids will believe you more than they believe social media and outside influences then it doesn’t matter what the world around them serves up.
Imo it’s wise NOT to lament whether your kids will live in a world like we did…they won’t. We can’t even guess what will happen in 5 years let alone 50 years.
Your kid could be John Conner and save the world!

My 17 yo grandson spent a week with me recently.
We did some cool stuff like shooting.
I hadn’t really been around him for a year or more.
I asked him about all the shit going on and what the scene was like at his HS. (Roseville area)

He said that most of the kids are tired of the gay stuff being trumpeted. He said he feels sorry for the gay kids in his school because they now have this judgmental spotlight on them that they never wanted. (In so many words)
He said there are a few that are loud with multi colored hair and all about the gender pronoun bullshit, but they are sort of affiliated with certain “teachers” who seem to be coaching them.

Overall, it seems the student body in general is not that affected by the shit we see in the media and on our devices.
