I had to change the channel the other night. They ran the commercial back to back and at the time, our kittie was missing and was out in the freezing rain.

I was like, fucc you guys.

Anyone else tired of the sad puppy dog fund raising commercials? I think it ASPCA. Been bombarding the tv like never before. Uggg.
Ok, maybe I'll buy my dog a new life vest.

I too am tired of them and actually mute the commercial.

I would rather see back to back Kars 4 Kids commercials...and that says a lot.

I don't know why they are airing so many commercials right now.

There was a big expose' on them some years ago. Maybe 10% of your donation might actually make it somewhere, possibly. Support your local shelters.

They must be making a lot of money to afford all that air time
That was actually all I could think of during these con artist tactics.
Nothing like harvesting donations during the "giving" season.

What I find more bizarre is commercials soliciting contributions for the elderly in Israel

Like Isreal is a poor state and can't take care of their own elderly citizens?

I call BS

Always a big push for donations at the end of the year for the tax write-off.

Every year I go to Walmart and/or Costco and buy a few hundred pounds of dog food and take it to the Castaic Animal Shelter. I prefer to donate food over money since I know where its going.

Need to watch what shelter you are supporting as well. We have one here in San Diego that makes a lot of money and also will not help certain breeds. They charge a lot for adoption fees and pretty much only have animals that are easy to move. The local Humane Society shelter is a much better shelter and they don't have a bunch of people at the top with bloated salaries.

There are so many ASPCA charities out there how the hell do you know which one you’re giving to and whether they’re good ones or not. Seems that every state or location has one and they all have different ratings.

Pretty amazing how many of these Charity CEO types are making close to seven figures for their services.🤔

I hate the ASPCA commercials. Also the feed the old Jew's one. For them, if they are Holocaust survivors, Germany should be supporting them. Next is the St Jude and Shriner sick kids hospitals commercials. Had enough of those commercials.

Shit, I'm into my rescue for 500 already, and it's only been 1 month.
Not donating anything no matter how weepy old Sara is.

Let's not leave out the Polar Bears and Elephants from this conversation either.
Ha, exactly. I saw one the other day that showed various shots of the imperiled polar bears. One shot was one seemingly stuck on an ice fragment and looking confused (because of all of us and our gas burning boats, all the ice is melting causing their habitat to be in rapid decline, you know). A couple of shots later was one swimming in a river heading to wherever.

I'm no polar bear expert, but it seems like the one floating on the piece of ice could also swim to where it needed to go. Call me crazy...

We also have two weenie dogs and one has a flair for the dramatic. When we put her in her crate, she looks so sad and pathetic behind bars that I start singing, "In the arms of the angels..." We have our own ASPCA commercials without even turning the TV on.

Whenever it comes on, I force my dogs to watch it, and tell them if it wasn't for me that this would be them. Kinda keeps them in line. :D

As far as polar bears, their population is higher now than it has been in over 70 years. While they blame "climate change" on the fact that polar bears are now going after non-traditional food sources, such as caribou (reindeer) and other land mammals, rather than sea mammals and fish (and Eskimos and Elves), it's actually that the abundance of polar bears (and illegal wildlife taking) are depleting their traditional food supplies, and causing them to alter their hunting grounds and prey to live. For a bunch of leftists who parrot: "follow the science", they completely ignore the ability of living creatures to evolve and adapt to ensure their survival.

Remember Archie Bunkers daughter hawking donations on TV? The commercial seemed like it was 7 minutes long. For only 13 cents a day, you can feed and clothe this child, and send him to school ....

I hope the little one is back home safe and sound.
YES! The cat made it back, we left our bedroom slider open and he wandered in at 3:00 a.m. Cold, hungry and wet, but okay.

He is one of three feral kittens we rescued from a wood pile at our horse property. Truly feral kitties, I never thought they would ever mellow out, but they are cool, just real skiddish. The escaped cat is the smartest of the three, I'm sure he followed a scent trail back home.

Thanks for asking :)

And those damn commercials are relentless...

And she was fat as a cow. She could have fed half those kids if she would have went on a diet
