At least the 4th one from the show. An iconic beauty with a cool backstory if you’re old enough to remember the show.

Enjoy.

Port holes are different from the original. Nice restoration though. Was a big fanfare with one original cast member, visiting Vancouver Island and shown on BC TV after it was launched.

Of course, but I’d really like to have a few beers with Alan Hale, the Skipper…I’ve seen him in a bunch of movies and TV shows.
Seems like a fun guy.
Seems like we'd see him every year at the boat show.

The Most Interesting Man in the World lived a good life, and he shared his affair with Tina Louise in his book…

From what I've read, Hale was a down to earth guy that loved folks and had a themed restaurant for awhile. Someone said he always got a little tuned up at the boatshows. :D

Yes he did…get tuned up. hahaha
Very approachable at the shows, always had the time to talk and usually trail of kids following him up and down the rows.

His dad was a pretty famous actor too starting deep in the silent era then as a character actor until he passed.

I was going to mention the Skipper's name was Alan Hale Jr. His father was regarded as a very good actor.

At one point, I recall reading that Gillian’s Island was literally always on the air in some part of the world.

Hard to believe that is folks who have heard of the show, let alone watched it, will be gone in a generation or two…
