So fuckin pissed.

So I shot out to havasu last night to register the new rail in AZ. Props and thank you‘s to ADOT and MVD easy and painless this AM.
Go past Barrett before leaving town for a little Xmas party deal. So that was the good parts of the day.

Leave town around 3 AZ time, makin good time coming home towing trailer w rail. Life is good. Gonna be a great day. Should get home before dinner, with the time change should make it by 5-530.

Rain starts around apple valley no big deal, still moving ok
To oh shit there the traffic is, no big deal. I’ll be late, so what, light a smoke and relax we’re gonna be here a while. 15 heading up the grade around Main Street towards cajon pass.
So I’m sitting there in traffic. Big rig in front of me. I’m towing, no need to pass non of us going anywhere fast. As I’m sitting there stopped a few times I thought what the fuck is my truck still moving after I’m stopped. Like my foot is letting up on the brake pedal. push pedal down and no movement. So I must be trippin.
Another mile or so up. oooooooook now I see it, the trucker in front of me is letting off his brakes and his truck is rolling backwards. Driving like a teenager that got his first lesson today with manual transmission.
So I say to myself, Myself stay the fuck back and merge when you can away from this idiot. We move maybe 50ft or so, keep in mind we are currently going from 0-5mph back to zero. Raining and bumper to bumper all lanes.
Freeway stops, I’m 20ft or so back from truck ahead of me. Sitting there going there he goes again rolling backwards. To wait this motherfucker is still coming. To what in the actual fuck. Lay on my horn. To booooooom!! This motherfucker just used my truck as a doorstop! Are you fucking kidding me. I can’t go anywhere because his truck is currently parked on mine. Cant back up with traffic. Sit there like , what is this idiot gonna do, pull over you dumb ass. Open my door and look up around his truck. He gets out, comes to back and says why did you hit me? I fucking lost it. I was like you fuckin hit me you dumb fuck. He says no you hit me, I said you gonna stick with that story if I tell you I have video in my truck? He stops talking and turns to leave. I was like pull the fuck over and get your info together, idiot. He goes back in truck, locks the door. Im sitting in middle lane of freeway playing frogger to not get hit in the fuckin rain.
5 mins or so goes by, I go back up to dudes door, he’s hiding in truck. I start punching his door, he’s like I’m on the phone with 911, I tell him get in that fucking driver seat and pull over to side of freeway. That if my shit gets rear ended because he’s got me blocked in hes gonna want to request an ambulance along with CHP because I’m coming in there and gonna beat the fuck out of him. Finally okayyy okayyy.
Finally move to side of freeway after prob 15 plus minutes blocking center lane of a 3 lane highway. He waits for CHP to arrive before he will get out of truck.

All to be told, exchange info.

Topper is. I don’t have video. No witness, i was solo. So officer said it will be my word against his. Likely 50/50
Why the fuck can’t people take responsibility for their actions. I did nothing, was stopped on freeway. He rolls back hits my truck. I now will have to pay deductible, and take what ever point on my DL, and get fucked long term on my insurance because Muammar Gaddafi said oh no he hit me. I knew I should of knocked him out, oh no officer I didn’t hit him his face hit my hand and I want to report how he made my knuckles bleed. I swear to GOD I can’t go to 7/11, Mobil, or see @Havasukid41
( Saddam) for a hot minute to get over this BS

79333C50-522B-4664-ACCF-115F0566A9A1.jpeg

here he is on the phone with 911
09D1BF22-EA17-4752-A007-F04E41C76526.jpeg

here he is hiding on passenger side, before he ran back to driver side as I approached passenger side

i would love to know if this is his personal truck, any info appreciated

I have been avoiding the 40 to 15 the past few times for this reason. Rice to the 10 no issues. 😡 Hope everything works out for you.

Five years ago, I used to hold truck drivers in a higher regard because of their CDL status. Now? F*** them, they routinely travel in the middle and fast lane impeding traffic, and have no regard for any other drivers.

At least when I tow the 45 ft toy hauler, some of them give me a little bit of respect. To the ones that don't, f*** you.

Well I have been considering a dash cam front and rear….. this just convinced me to visit the other thread regarding them and buying it tomorrow.
Had I thought about it, I had time to grab phone and record. It was slow motion and disbelief

I agree cam would have destroyed this idiots story.

And I get it points are worse for them. Had he said hey let’s exchange info, but I’ll pay myself, my bad. Ok, mistake we all move on. My bumper is a fusion aftermarket. Bumper replacement cost alone 3000 plus paint. No idea if mounts bent, compressor or lines hit, damage to grill or not. Was to pissed to really look in the rain.

In the end, I prob won’t send to insurance to fuck myself long term

Oh F that sucks! How bad is your truck?
good thing the buggy is all safe and sound!

long shot can you down load your truck details from the computer? Wonder if it will say how fast you were going before the crunch….
talk about BS! Just what anyone needs right now!

From what I seen in the rain fucked up bumper, the paint and powder coat in a large palm size area. And twisted it up about an inch.
If no other damage I’ll loosen mounts and try and straighten it out. Buff out bumper and live with it I guess. Assuming that’s the only damage. If compressor hit, or anything else then I guess I’ll call insurance to handle

Saw the exact same thing happen on the 10 west near the 62 in bumper to bumper traffic. I had to check my brakes as I thought I was rolling forward as well. Lady gets out of her truck and has this total disbelief look on her face, guy she hit seemed a lot cooler about it than I would have been.
Good luck!

Reminds me of a time in a McDonald’s parking lot with my F-250. I start backing out of my parking space. I’m about 1/2 out and this idiot who’s back end was facing my back end starts backing out of his spot. I’m like WTF so I stop and BOOM he backs right into me. Like the OP I was sort of in shock and disbelief it was going to happen. I should have laid on the horn, might have helped. I was dead stopped and he backed into me. Idiot never admitted he was at fault and cop agreed- there was no proving anything. At least his shitty car sustained far more damage than my truck did😉

I had this exact thing happen,... ended up with fines and 6 mo. probation... ended up in court,.... he showed up with another trucker that said he seen me re end the truck, and that I passed him on the shoulder, and then cut in front of him... then said he had to swerve to the secound lane to avoid hitting me when the truck in front hit the brakes,I rear ended the truck.. said he got stuck in that lane and had to keep going.....

That sucks. I saw some idiot do this on the 60 by Box Springs not to long ago. I’m a trucker and I hate 95% of truckers and people for that matter on the road. Very few good ole boys behind the wheel these days. Although the idiots driving cars are just as bad. 🤦‍♂️ Hopefully it gets worked out for you. Should of pulled the rag off his head right into your knee. He tripped and you tried to catch him right? 🤣👊🤦‍♂️

My daughter had a truck roll back into her and we proved that’s what happened by videoing her putting the car in neutral and panning to the side window showing that she was rolling backwards. Turned out it was an inmate driving for the prison and getting paid was impossible because the fed is self insured but they did admit fault.

A month ago I was going thru a Rite Aid parking lot and a Lady backs her Kia into the right rear side of my F150 , I stop She gets out and says "Didnt you see me backing up? " I said Lady you just Backed into Me ..... State farm (both insured by them) awarded her responsibility and coughed up 6K for my wounded Baby

I've driven big stuff, and towed pretty heavy with my 40ft goose with a 6spd Cummins, there is no excuse for what that guy did! Roll back a foot, maybe two if it's steep, but that's just stupid to roll back that far.

Used to be, truckers were some of the most professional people on the road. Some still are. The rest were riding camels only a few years ago. I wonder if they threw bottles full of piss out on the on ramps in Bangladesh like they do here. Filthy fuckers.

I’m curious to see if they roll back because they’re running an auto shift truck. I’ve never run one of those, and I don’t know if they go In neutral, or the clutch goes in at a stop or something. I’ve been driving a long time as well, and I’ll pop maxi’s if I’m sitting for several minutes. Maybe they run them like a ln automatic car, and just sit in gear? I don’t know…

Don't know if they're all the same, but my friend had a Cascadia briefly. It sucked, and was the most miserable thing to drive. It "clutched" for you. Meaning you could feel it disengage between shifts. I would think it used speed sensors and rpm to figure gear selection, and at a stop would have to shift into neutral.

I could see them being useful for local deliveries, like the old day cabs with an Allison. For OTR stuff, I think they just made it too lazy. No skills needed. A 13spd takes some thought, and an old twin stick took some skill. I think every driver should have to drive a manual setup for a time before they get into an "auto". I don't care what country they're from, or how they dress, they should all be really well trained before heading out with 80,000lbs (or more).

Those auto’s are miserable for anything beyond motorhomes IMO. If you test in a auto for your class A your restricted to auto’s only. Can’t drive manual.

We have a couple auto’s in our fleet. I took one for a spin and hated it.

Ok, so it wasn't just me...it really did suck. The coaches I have been around ran big Allison setups, and shifted "normal". That Cascadia made people around you think it was a stick...and you drove like an old lady 😂

One time 025Matt hired a full time driver to run his heavy haul pete that I’d run occasionally, and the guy shows up, looks in the cab, and goes “oh, I’ve never ran a stick shift”… pretty embarrassing if you ask me. Matt said the the guy told him that he had many hours running heavy haul.

here in Canuckland, trucks operated by east Indians. According to an CDL instructor friend, more than 50% of them clueless how to adjust air brakes. Most of the driving schools [ Surrey ] for truckers are run by East Indians in the Greater Vancouver area,

front bumper alone, and that includes powder coat only. Then had it paint matched and clear coated to match truck, don’t know individual cost for that, since I had tail gate emblem shaved, filled, and painted, rear bumper is same deal. It was a few grand in paint work.
I gotta start building pools.

I wouldn’t of gotten bumpers if it wasn’t for Aaron getting rid of his SEMA build truck. I didn’t pay that originally, lol. If i have to replace I will be.
buddy just told me carmax gave 36k for truck similar miles. Ill throw this bitch in the gutter and buy another for that price.

That's fucked up. I'm sorry to read this.

I live my life two steps in front of a black cloud and it gets me often so I know how you feel.

I have cameras in every vehicle after Mercury laid down a bunch of cash on a fraudulent injury with a 10 mph spinout door dent my son caused. Bodily injury 2 point fucking causing me to now pay $8.5k a year to insure a family of 4 with only one newer car...mine.

They do roll back if you take your foot off the break and or are not pressing the break down hard enough to keep the truck from moving.

They used to stop you on a little hill and if you rolled back at all it was an immediate failure of the CDL drive test, maybe they don’t do that anymore.

It’s not horrible, scratched up down to bare metal. Driver side it twisted it up 3/4-1in out from level.
I could prolly repaint and have bumper “fixed” It just sucks that I need to do anything when I didn’t do this.
I’ll tell you what though if that was factory bumper taking the impact of a fully loaded big rig rolling down hill and being stopped by my truck. That entire front end of truck would be fukt. My rear bumper a customer in a mini van backed into pulling out of driveway years back, it crushed that shit bumper, by a mini van low speed impact.
mikethetrucker can eat a bag of dicks if he wants to defend habibs actions on this one, lol
