Anybody see it? Car split in two and started on fire? 28 seconds later he literally rose out of the flames. Fucking amazing.

If somebody could link it..

Was going to say... you're a year late. He was incredibly lucky.

If you have Netflix, check out Formula 1: Drive to Survive. I believe last season includes the crash

I know I am late, but I watched a really cool replay of it. Absolutely amazing. Really cool how every driver was asking about him after the crash.

I just watched it for the first time.. unreal he survived.

There is another vid on youtube of an interview he did.. brought back some memories of a crash I had in a 19 blown Spectra.. Same thing happened to me.. got stuck under it, inhaled cold water and thought, " wow, this is it"..

A calm came over me ( just like Grosjean). Suddenly everything was clear as day... Unhooked myself from the steering wheel and swam out..broke my left femur..

His vid gave me chills.

God is real folks!

I actually saw it during the broadcast, you could feel the silence. Ayrton Sennas crash was the same way, except he wasn't so lucky

Grosjean left F1 for IndyCar in 2021, had a great season. He was driving for a substandard team, and has been signed by Andretti Autosport for the 2022 season.

He'll be driving the DHL sponsored entry, the seat previously occupied by Ryan Hunter-Reay. RHR was let go at the end of this season.

I was watching the broadcast when Greg Moore died. The first time I ever said to myself, "he is dead" after a crash.

Then you see a crash like Dale Earnhardt's at the 500 and you wonder how did he die? At least it did not look that bad from the film.

I remember as a kid, sitting on the dirt hillside at Turn 6 at Riverside and seeing a guy in an stock car hit the small block retaining wall that was no more than 200 feet in front of us. Crash looked MEH, dude gets out of the car, puts his arms up like "whatever" but then dropped dead. For the longest time I remembered his name, but now it escapes me.

That was amazing to watch him rise up and get out. Truly a miracle.

Back in 2008 when I was living in Brazil we were driving from the farm in SP back to the city and we came through one of the toll booths right next to this bad ass Ferrari. We were in a Bullet proof 7 series Beamer 🤣 and thought it was a good idea to start racing each other. We were in and out of cars, splitting onto both shoulders, driving way to fast but when your in your early 20’s you don’t care 🤣 this went on for probably 20 miles before the smoking hot chick in the passenger seat waved and blew us a kiss and they dropped back. We were talking shit “that guy doesn’t know how to drive, he should give me the keys, blah blah blah”. The driver then comes around on the shoulder on our passenger side and give us a big thumbs up. It was Felipe Masa 🤦‍♂️🤣🤣🤣

If I recall correctly, in Dale's crash it was reported he had loosened his harness up a bunch to be more comfortable, something he was known for and that was the cause of his injuries leading to his death...I believe the Hans device became a mandatory safety item following that.

Watched it live. There were tears in our house, first of horror and then of joy. The Phoenix!

Saw that one live as well. That freaking sucked, you knew he wasn't going to make it.

I read that too. I just looked it up....Dale broke 8 ribs, breast bone, left ankle, scratches and bruises, and what killed him was a severe fracture at the base of his skull which led to internal bleeding and massive blood loss. He was dead when they got to him. His left lap belt had separated from the hit, and as he twisted forward, his chin hit the steering wheel which also pushed his helmet down exposing the back of his head.

Wow, I didn't think it did that kind of damage.

You know it must have looked a little worse in person, because you could hear the concern in Waltrip's voice immediately. Of course they also have experience with the speeds and angle at that track. Sad day for sure.😢

I too saw the Greg Moore wreck - when he went through the culvert upside down, you knew it wasn’t going to end well.

At the time Troy Lee was painting a new helmet for me to use when I was doing a bit of karting. I had Troy paint a number of helmets for me back in the day when he actually painted them.

I’m sure the Greg Moore fans will recognize the inspiration for my design.

Cement walls do not give much when you bounce a stock car off them, fire is the biggest concern of any driver

Love my Bell Dominator! I had Straight Edje paint my Dominator when I was racing shifter karts.

Beautiful helmet bud.

The belts broke because of a modification to them requested by Earnhardt himself, and the open helmet was was not a good idea. He might have survived with a closed helmet.

From that point they began requiring not just the HANS, but real containment seats, The seats they used up to then were a joke.

I was at that race with my son, his first indy car race. Greg went head on into the wall, the crash was showed just once on the jumbo-tron and in an instant everyone was hoping and praying. When Greg's passing was announced an eerie feeling fell upon the stands, we all witnessed his final lap on earth and in a blink of an eye he took his first breath in Heaven.

RIP Greg RIP...

After it was announced at the track that Greg had died, his Forsythe Racing crew walked back out to their pit in rank two by two to break down the equipment and load it into the transporter.

My heart was breaking for those guys. It had to be the worst day of their lives.

The remains of Greg's car were impounded by CART for an investigation into his death, but no conclusion was reached as to the cause of the accident.

Dale sat low leaned to one side and kept his belts loose. Bill Simpson was either at the race or one before it and commented to Dale the belts were extremely dangerous but he didn't listen.

There is a great analysis on Greg and the setup he used that day on a website I read. Very loose but very fast, and less forgiving. Once he hit that curb and kicked up, that was the end. RIP
