RIP Smitty Smith

If you have ever called the Edelbrock tech line looking for help with an Edelbrock carburetor, cylinder heads, or intake manifolds, you may have spoken to “Smitty” Smith. One of the long-tenured Edelbrock employees, he started on June 29th, 1992. After 30 years, it’s safe to say he probably talked to more people during his tenure than almost any other employee. However, speaking to many people doesn’t give someone ambassador status; that must be earned. His larger-than-life personality and passion for helping people made Smitty an ambassador by default. Everyone became instant friends with and to him.

Smitty was a good man . I’ve know him for over 40 years . Lots of great memories . He was a legend around the Venice / Culver City area . He had some cool rides through the years and a pretty damn good taco shop for a few years . RIP my friend .

brother inlaw and I have read
just about every new feed on his
death and how he has touched
so many people from all over
the country and how his larger
then life personality also touch
thousands of people We'lll can
tell you first hand he's even
better in person we see him
just about every holiday and
birthdays and he's like a huge
teddy bear my daughter adored
so much and now we miss him
even more ! Just a few days
prior we all met up at ltalian
restaurant at Universal City
Walk and he enjoyed himself
had a few beers and enjoyed
being with his family ! So Smitty

If this is the same Smitty Smith, that I knew from the Inglewood Service Center, back in the late 70's, he was a legend then & he was truly a great & very helpfull person way back then!
