He passed away this morning due to complications with his health. Jerry is known in the industry as a fixture at Hallett Boats over the decades and more recently for his own boat line “Barron Boats.”

RIP Jerry I will miss talking to you at the shows.

Very sad. I dont know all the details but it seemed like Jerry got the raw end of the deal when his father ( Nick) passed away.

Heart breaking news.
Talked to him on the 15th and he was in good spirits. Foot surgeries almost done, was talking about getting back to work, looking forward to the Havasu boat show this year.

Had the pleasure of working with him and his father at Hallett since 2008, those guys kept me alive during the recession with a slow but steady pace.
After the Hallett brand was sold he kept going and kept calling me to come shoot his new lineup.

Really going to miss that guy.

Rest now, Jerry. And thank you for the experience, the words of wisdom, and the confidence you always had in me.

I wonder what his Dad and him are discussing right now.........

EDIT: I say this with genuine curiosity. I have no knowledge of any positive or negative dealings between them, just merely stating I wonder what time and clarity washes away and what is worth preservation to be discussed. Side note: I believe whatever state of character or personality type we attain in this life just flows right with us in the life to come.

We stopped into the shop in like 2008 while out in LA to look at a used hallett. He and Jim showed us around like VIP.

God bless him and his family.

I bought a 210 he was selling on consignment last may. Was super nice on the phone said come and get it. Came down and met Jerry. Looked a little rough health wise but was sharp as a tac. He recognized my last name and said are you related to so&so. I said sure am, that’s my dad. He remembered him from selling him a new vector when I was born in 1989. We caught up more and had other mutual friends in common. Come to find out as I was leaving with the boat it was his first day back in months and he was still pretty touch and go for work with health concerns. He took great care of the simple boat deal and I could tell in the 20 min talking to him that he had a passion for the product and loved what he did. Im sure many others who were more familiar with him have some great memories.

My condolences, RIP in Jerry. Was a ball buster with a great sense of humor. Was a wealth of knowledge on the Hallett brand.

This is sad news……

I met Jerry when I purchased my Hallett over the phone, sight unseen. We actually met when I picked it up. He said…… “let me show you your new boat” and we both laughed because, at that point, I already owned it, no matter what it looked like.

Of course……. It was eye candy! Beautiful boat.

RIP Jerry.
Jerry helped me out several times thru the years with both our 255 and our 210. He always took my call or called me back. He advised on pre-buy decisions as well as when something was not working right. The last few times we spoke he was insistent that I call him back to discuss the resolution. He sure did love Halletts. RIP Jerry

This is so sad to hear. Jerry & Nick were really good guys. Always super kind. I made their boat cleaner for years and would love seeing him at the shows. I’m going to miss our chats. RIP Jerry 🙏

Damn, Sad to hear this…my son and I got to spend a little time with him at the Irwindale shop a few times. Nice guy to say the least. The first time I visited that shop I couldn't find anyone to talked to so I walked up to this old man that was standing next to the yellow flat and asked if anyone was around…it was a dummy. I turned around and could see Nick laughing at me from behind the glass. He fetched Jerry and sent him out.

God speed Jerry…cya on the other side.

If there's a memorial service for Jerry, I hope someone will post the information here (I'm not on Facebook). Hallett was my first and longest running client of mine when I started my ad agency in 1979. Lots of memorable Nick and Jerry adventures over those 40 years.

Wow. Very sorry to hear this. Have spoken to him several times in person and via phone/text on various boats, and parents did too. Always a pleasure. Same with his dad over 20 years ago. I hope the knowledge has been passed on and that maybe Barron boats can continue on.

God bless and rest in paradise Jerry…

I met Jerry in 2003 when I purchased our new 255S. During the build process, my wife said to Jerry many times how worried she was about not liking the graphics and colors coming out of the mold. Jerry said to her, "if you dont like them I'll build you another one". Will never forget that and was always kind to us throughout the years.
RIP Jerry

Jerry had a magical way of making you feel welcome and special. At least that's how he treated me.
Expanding on the post above, I was peppering Jerry with questions, he responded saying, Mike, there isn't anything we can't fix, repair or
service on your boat. You're part of the family now. Very reassuring..
God speed Jerry. You'll be missed.....

Damn. Jerry was the nicest guy. I really liked what he was doing at Barron. I wish his family the best. Rest easy Jerry you will be dearly missed.

The legends are all leaving us. Not many left from the golden age of West Coast custom boats.
