My wife and I retired at the beginning of the year, it's been great, I highly recommend to everybody, that being said, this morning sitting there having coffee with her, and just hearing about all the baazzarrooo shit going on, not only here in America, but thru out the world, I turned to her and said, Sweetheart, I think we retired into the Apocalypse, I don't care what anybody says, It's not getting better, if anything the throttle is stuck at full throttle, heading for the cliff, This sucks

Wife is retiring young in January.
Last night my phone blew up their was a stabbing at her hospital.

She had mentioned she had a crazy patient that was kicked out of other hospitals.

She was ok.

Be glad when she is home forever.
We’re debt free, have savings and several income streams that Democrats want to make theirs.

Go out into the country somewhere in an RV and other than property prices seems pretty normal.

If you’ve retired by choice, congrats, you have run your race well.

My only suggestion, turn off the news and turn your own life to full throttle while you can.

Enjoy it, don’t let the news contaminate your future, they have no responsibility to tell you the truth.

What the hell do you retired guys do all day? Get bored and fat? I would go stir crazy. There are way too many hours in the day to fill up.
RV w/off road vehicles, take a train trip to Central Texas BBQ joints, run the Jet Skis in Parker, cruise around the British isles later this month, Then Bahamas in Sept, then trans Atlantic cruise after that,, wife finds homes for German Shepard's and Desert burros, where did we have the time when working?

All through history there have been challenging times, and there always will be. Imagine our ancestors staring down the great depression, WW1, WW2, the cold war, etc. That shit seems way scarier then whats going on today in terms of how it might have impacted you personally. This too shall pass. Turn off the news and be happy you are fortunate enough to live in the USA and be retired. Time to enjoy all of your hard work and enjoy your family and friends!

Wife and I both retired within the last year. Fired all the help, IE house cleaner, yard guy and pool guy. We have two homes to maintain and a twin screw cabin cruiser at Powell… not bored at all. We also fly a small plane to check out other parts of the country when we get stir crazy.

Turn off the news and stay off of the internet. You will find out that nobody for the most part cares about any of that and the ones that do, wear it on their sleeve and you can avoid it.

America is still the greatest country on earth if you let it be.

No kidding… how quickly we forget the late 60s and the civil rights discourse. Makes today seem a bit more in perspective!

Today...

Got up and cleaned up the mess from a party this weekend...

Started some laundry...

Stretched hot some weights...

Three mile walk with the dog...

Did some website work....

Took the dog to the vet...

Picked up some pieces for my boat...

Picked up some filet's from the butcher shop for dinner...

And right now I'm prepping the cast iron pan for the steaks...

Still have to make a salad and all that, make dinner, clean up...

And after that, relax and watch a movie?

NEVER a dull moment around here!

Oh yeah...

And I didn't listen to one single minute of the news! 😎

Step one is get the zombie and his female helper out of the White House and put Trump back in there to get things squared away. It won’t be the apocalypse forever.

Oh and fixed some sprinklers and made and ate lunch. No breakfast since I'm intermediate fasting.

I also just got back from a couple of weeks on the road. Tahoe and Pinetop-Lakeside.

Forgot to say congrats and welcome to the club! 🎉🍾🥳

How anyone can not see the decline of this nation is beyond me. I get that maybe some feel it's out of their control and don't want to deal with it. You'd be the Marxist's who are currently transforming our nation away from what it was founded upon wet dream.

Don't get me wrong, I get it and the fight is not for all, but the future generations of this nation deserve consideration, as many did before we were born.

I for one will ALWAYS salute the men and women who had the courage and fortitude to make a difference!!

I same as River mobster except I add a round of golf at sunlight or just hit balls, usually a motorcycle ride or go surfing or paddleboarding after that, might wash a car and then take boat for a little harbor cruise after that, maybe a beach bike ride, not enough hours in the day. I couldn't tell you what's happening besides that except for stock market, always got a few minutes for that, never watch tv or the news.

Having something to occupy time is necessary I think. Retired 19 years ago. We were lucky Daughter and family lived within walking distance. Watched the G-kids two days a week, started the gym 3 days a week. All the neighbors were cool, bonfires parties, BBQ., street drinking.. 😁
Picked the kids up from school on a regular basis usually stopped for a little snack, great times. Eventually moved to a lake family out almost every weekend, Sea Doos, Pontoon hanging out cooking on the boat.

G-kids inow n college, Granddaughter about to graduate, grandson transferring to Florida college now. Still see Daughter and G-kids several times a year. Son lives here close to us. Usually hang out at local pub with he, wife and friends 3-4 days a week. Still at the gym 3 days a week.

Would have retired sooner just needed to be able to afford it.

Looking good Mike. What color are you going with? You going to be in town after the RV trip? I will have to come by and check out the paint job and progress on the wagon. 👍

For those that may not know wife and I will spend $3000 quarterly on Medicare. It's deducted from my and eventually the wife's Social Security. I'm lucky, my works retirement plan sends/will send us a quarterly check for $3000 reimbursement.

When leftist politicians say "medicare for all",, remember it ain't free. If you have a no supplement or a HMO supplement you need PPO supplement. It's more than simply choosing your doctor. It's choosing your treatment and location of your treatment.
Ya want to go to a 3rd world doctor strip mall for treatment or to a major league hospital that specializes in your treatment. HUGE difference.
