Resort style vacation in September......where does the weather not suck? Resort recommendations?

My 15th anniversary is coming up in September, and we wanted to take resort style vacation to get away and chill. There's no shortage of bitchin all-inclusive resorts, but from what i'm reading the weather at most of these destinations sucks in September! So far i've looked at your typical Mexico spots (not crazy about mexico for alot of reasons...), Jamaica, Punta Cana, etc.

Looking to do a 5 night deal, all inclusive with the typical bitchin pools, swim up bars, entertainment, beach, etc. A swim-up hotel room would be awesome.

Any resort recommendations, or destinations safe for September?

We did Barbados in October and it was bitchin. All inclusive Sandals deal with a swim up pool at the room along with a butler that was a phone call away for whatever we wanted. My wife loved it. I'm not much of an all-inclusive type and prefer to roam off the beaten path but for that week I sat by the pool and drank all day every day.

We did Barbados in October and it was bitchin. All inclusive Sandals deal with a swim up pool at the room along with a butler that was a phone call away for whatever we wanted. My wife loved it. I'm not much of an all-inclusive type and prefer to roam off the beaten path but for that week I sat by the pool and drank all day every day.

Im with you on the resort deal. Just seems like a nice change of pace, all of our usual trips are center around self-guided shitloads of work, cleaning and driving

Wherever you choose if in the Atlantic/Gulf might want to learn about that “hurricane insurance” on your trip. I’ve never done it, but almost needed it in the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana, Excellence Resort. Thankfully we were at a nice all inclusive, every excursion we tried kept getting cancelled the whole trip.

Tropical Storm Bonnie parked her ass on us for most all of our trip, when we returned to Austin, we grabbed the boat and went to the lake all day the next day to get some sun, we did not get any in the DR, and that was just late July 2010 early in the hurricane season.

I was going to post this exact question. I was trying to do something in August but airfares were ridiculous everywhere I wanted to go. So right now I am trying to plan a trip to the Abacos in Bahamas and rent a boat and a house with a dock maybe in november.

I am well versed in Maui, particularly Wailea.

Not all inclusive, but I love being there and so do my girls.

It is freaking pricey, but stay at a 5 Star Resort and get treated like Royalty.

We just did a week in Akumal, Mexican Riviara. Very near Tulum & several cenotes. The resort was called Secrets.
All-inclusive, ground floor rooms have a semi-private swim up pool, 3 large resort pools, one w/swim-up bar, multiple excellent restaurants, clean beach with lots of loungers/umbrellas, lots of friendly & helpful servers to keep your drinks flowing.
At the beach bar you sit in swings. No shortage of food or drink.
Bonus is sea turtles reside in the area so if going snorkeling is your thing the chances are good to see one.

I have always wanted to go to Banff. They have the Fairmont Banff Springs there. Beautiful area and should be perfect in September.

Every trip we take has an RV, truck, boat or offroad toys in the mix so non-stop work. Waking up everyday deciding if you wanted to have your cooler setup at the pool or on the beach and what was for breakfast being the biggest decision/task was a nice change of pace. No kids running around the place was nice as well so I'd definitely make the priority wherever you go.

Got married in Akumal in 02. At la buenavida.
One the wife's birides maid got married at an all inclusive near there on our 20th anniversary so we went back to check it out. Love Akumal but the sargazm (sp) sea weed crap was terrible so we blew off staying there.

Adults only. Was pretty rad. Full bottles of booze in the room. You want coors light. They make sure your fridge is filled every day. We got a killer room. Beach and pool view, jacuzzi tub,

Just do a water bungalow in Bora Bora and you will have swim up food, swim up drink, swim up sexy time, and swim up whatever the heck else you want.

Not all inclusive, but your wifey will include all sorts of perks to make up for that!

If your from LB, that's called "The cruise to nowhere " since we've all been to Catalina, San Diego and Ensenada a million times.
But still a good time, especially if you meet fun people to go ashore with!

We enjoyed Excellence Playa Mujeres. Adults-only, all-inclusive. Great food and drinks, excellent service. We did a swim-up room and that was one of our favorite things. We felt completely safe there and the resort has a private airport transfer as well.

I know it's been said, but September can be sketchy for weather. Look into travel insurance.

Costa Rica was nice when we were there in September. We stayed at the Peace Lodge. And had our own personal Tour guide provided by the resort. We had 24 hour access to the zoo. It’s in the rain Forest, next to a volcano. Not the party scene, but a great launch point for horseback riding, Rain Forest, stocked fishing pond, Jaguars, etc…

If you want guaranteed great weather and an all inclusive resort, Aruba is hard to beat. It’s desert climate, they don’t get hurricanes or other tropical storms. English is the native language, safe, and you can even drink the water.

We went to Punta Cana and had a great time but their is a travel advisory for Dominican Republic/Punta Cana now. We go every year to RIU Palace Las Americas in Cancun but check weather for September. We also have been to Sandals in Antigua 5 star everything but it is couples only so no bachelor or bachelorette parties there just real quite. For our 50th we are going to Maui.
