I just got back from two days on the reservation in New Mexico and Arizona. Stayed at Canyon de Chelle, how beautiful! Lots of road time. Man there are some crap roads on the reservation!! LOL I did about 25 miles on a dirt road. Man that was brutal!

I will have to post the little place we ate at today. LOL Man! You like mutton? Or Navajo burger? Good stuff.

Anyone else spend any time on the reservation?

Because......? Sorry i don't know. You're Native American? You live in the community built on the California side of the river?

Rob

The entire town of Parker is on the Reservation.

I'm not native, but my wife is. Not of this tribe, she's a Cherokee citizen.

I am planning on going to the View hotel in monument valley in a couple of week for a short getaway. Looks like it will be a beautiful place to stay.

I think you are refering to the mess at Havasu Landing. People were just
walking away from there homes because the Indians were creating so much hassle for them.

With that boat you should go to Powell while there. Great boat for Powell.

We hit several 2 years ago.
We love the local food and "trading" at the posts or agency stores.
Plenty to see and do:

Not only is monument valley awesome, but their are several other valleys in the area too that are knock out scenery.

You can visit the Navajo sweat lodges.
They put you with a group in a sweat sauna made of brick/adobe and ya shrink down a couple sizes.

Then the chief or medicine man comes in and talks with people about their problems and worries and lifes issues.
They don't hesitate to explain to some what F'ups they are. The bare naked truth.

Spent some time in Rosebud and Pine Ridge in South Dakota. Lots of poor people out there.

Yes, my brothers and I have done a few motorcycle trips in that area. Here are some pictures of Canyon de Chelly. The last picture is of a young lady who wanted to have her picture taken on a Harley. The picture was taken at Lukachukai Trading Post North East of Canyon de Chelly. This country is 'open range' where the cattle and horses roam freely on the roads. There are many beautiful and spiritual places here. We will be in Monument Valley the 1st of November.

How Dat?

You know 'em?

I have heard of them. I don't know that we have used them. But I will check with estimating when I get in the office on Monday. I am sure one of the guys knows them.
