Naja's is a damn good time in King Harbor!
Many great times there. Naja is a good friend of the family.
Definitely had many of those. Naja and her daughter Imman cooked great food. It’s been some years that they sold it, but the new owner retained the name. She use to have her yacht parked right in front, it was called Princess Naja. Her husband passed away soon after. They moved to Bullhead City - right on the water. They own the gas station and all 0f the businesses on Goffs Road & highway 40. They are building a huge compound on the California side right on the river towards Avi.Naja’s...it has been a long time. Back in the day, we would hit the fresh seafood place just down the boardwalk. The one with newspapers and wooden hammers to eat your seafood with. After that Naja’s, and then the Kings game.
Who knows how we made it home. Anyone here drink themselves around the world there?
...Spent a lot of time in King Harbor...Can’t remember the name of the hole in the wall Burrito Place up on the road???...Can’t remember the names of any of the places that served booze either...for obvious reasons...Lived up on Carnelian in Redondo for a bit...
Weekends at the Fox were wild just before they closed it down.
We went to this joint for mexican, when someone could get hold of a car.

...Damn...that’s the Mexican joint...
.
Taking me back man! I grew up in the SoBay and my buddy lived right down that ally to the right. El Tarasco was always the go to place for grub after a surf sesh. If I ever went back to that area I would certainly hit that place, haven't been since the 80's.
As I recall you went to West High.
North, before I got kicked out then Shery how ya doing man?

I started going there in college, my roommate worked for a distributor schleping kegs and that was one of his stops. I remember Naja and the Princess moored there. Not much has changed except Kara takes care of us now. Many great times there. Naja is a good friend of the family.
We used to go to Sharkys, Docs, Chillers and the Lighthouse up the road. Houllihans was another favorite spot nearby. Lots of great memories.Holy crap, weird seeing this place on a forum. I lived about 100ft from there for years in the Village Condos almost 17 years ago. Met my wife in Hermosa Beach at Sharkys not too far down the road almost 17years ago as well!
Just looked up my old 600 square foot unit. Last sold for 628k! Ouch!
I had the card but never filled it.Naja’s...it has been a long time. Back in the day, we would hit the fresh seafood place just down the boardwalk. The one with newspapers and wooden hammers to eat your seafood with. After that Naja’s, and then the Kings game.

I'm pretty sure all of the corporate RO's are gone, but Jeff Earle still owns the RO in Palos Verdes. That is our go to Mexican place. My wife and I spent many Monday's in the lounge watching football when we were dating.I thought it might be as it's one of the two that I've heard people brag about. The other is the old Red Onion on PCH.
Did you ever go to Del Conte's
I took a date there once, it was the first time I had been. I got lucky and ordered a Bud, she ordered wine. The bartender said "you can have wine, but it's gonna taste like Budweiser".The original Pitcher House was always a great spot as well. I miss that place.

El Burrito Junior on PCH?
There was a Red Onion on Harbor Dr, but I don't remember one on PCH. The original hole in the wall was on Hawthorne in Lawdale, I believe, and the restaurant opened in PV in 1966.Can’t quite remember The Red Onion
...Do you mean Del Contes Steak House..in the Lomita area???...

Del Contes brings back memories, along with the Velvet Turtle and the Parasol.

Great memories. Del Contes for all you could eat King Crab Legs. Velvet Turtle special 2nd anniversaty. Bill came to $22.00. Had to work overtime! Parosol for dessert. Still here. Almost 50 years. Great ocean breezes. Polly's On the pier just closed. There was a Red Onion on Harbor Dr, but I don't remember one on PCH. That's the original, all I know about it is the story on the back of the menu at the PV location. So cool you got to go to the original. We would also go to the RO on Hawthorne blvd. back in the day. I might be confused with the restaurant on PCH as it was about 1961 the first time I recall going there.
Naja’s!

My wife's sister moved to NC and then SC, the first thing they ask for when we pick them up at the airport is In-N-Out or SuperMex.You guys are killing, no over the top Mexican here on the east!
I will be in NM. AZ in a couple months, looking forward to it!
We used to go to that RO and Senor Frogs. Both were good places to dance and drink after Houllihans closed. We did Nationals a lot too, but during the day shooting pool. I've only been to Shade once, for the L.A. Kings charity meet n greet. I have pics of that somewhere.Red onion became Señor Frogs I think. They tore all that shit down and built a hotel called Shade.
I was a bus boy at the Torrance VT,later became Nationals Sports Bar
