I rescued this freak. Most loyal dog I’ve ever had. He’s goofy as hell but it’s almost like he knows I rescued him. If I left him home and went to the river he’d run the whole way to be there with me.

I had two rescue dogs. My first Rottweiler, got her at the shelter. Third Rottweiler was my boy. He kept escaping his owners yard and coming to my house. The owner went to prison. The owners wife couldn't afford to feed him. So I took him in............................................

Appears Biden’s German Shepherd, Champ, must be 12 now. Believe that is about the max average life span of a GS.

Only thing I like about Biden thus far.

Rescue pup on the right putting in work. I’ll never buy a dog again.

About 30 some years ago I went to look at a yellow lab puppy. When I got there I was in shock. Worst puppy mill you could imagine. I bought the little guy just to get him out of there. He was very sick but with a veterinarians help and a lot of sleepless nights he became the best buddy I ever had. He lived to be 14 years old. Hardest thing I have ever had to do was to let him go. This is a picture of him with my son who’s 29 years old now. I miss him every day even though I have awesome pups now.

My ex wife and I went to get a Lab from a breeder near Palmdale 30 years ago, I ended up giving the lady $200 and leaving with the request she give the dogs a bath.

Camarillo dog pound is our go to. We have had 4 from there. Currently we have 3 dogs, 1 from Camarillo pound, 1 stray and 1 from a crackhead outside Starbucks in Simi Valley! The term "rescue" bugs me. I have been getting dogs from the pound for 40 years and now people are "noble" and "rescue" dogs. Every dog you get from the pound is a life saved. period.

Just because somebody drove it from San Diego, or Flew it from El Paso does not make it's life more valuable than the dogs at the local pound.

Dogs are great, pounds are full of dogs whose owners were too stupid to figure that out.

Awe rescues are the best. They have an appreciation for you others won’t have. My first dog was a basset hound that had been returned to the pound twice. We had a great run.
Was it named Milly?

I almost got a shelter dog, but fortunately the shelters here lack inventory. The few dogs they do have, get adopted fast. There is a wait list for shelter dogs here. Our shelters are also no kill. If the border was open I would have looked into getting a shelter dog in Washington State.

Neil and Hollie at the Joint will back her up on that.
They break and train their own BTW.

Two rescues here. Sid and Sanger(looks like a Twinkie). My wife volunteers at a local shelter. We always get the “scared or anti social/ hard to adopt” pups.

It takes a month or two to gain their trust and then you have the most thankful and loyal dog you can imagine.

They call that a failure lol. I could not foster we would have an entire pack

We are headed up to Prescott today to pick up a Standard Schnauzer that we are supposed to foster. The owner has to surrender her because she is too old for a dog with that much energy. We haven’t even met this dog yet and we know it will be a fail. 🤣. I highly doubt he will ever leave our family.

This was our last foster, she was really cool, but not the right dog for us.

Helping save these dogs and finding them good homes is really rewarding.

Have mixed feelings about them myself.

My roommate rescued a pitmation. She was honestly bi polar or schizo . She would be superfriendly 99% of the time but would randomly attack people. My friend spent tons of time with her, training, he even hired a dog therepy person to come to the house and work with her. I never had a problem with her as I lived there at the time but was always hesitant to bring people over.

After I moved out she ended up having to be put down as she bit my friends young child.

Always stuck with me, however this could be any dog you get I guess.

Lots of cute dogs in this thread.
