I was at the refinery yesterday morning. We had employees standing 15 feet from the point it started. Trust me wasn't planned by government or oil company so they could make more money. Don't want to say anything as I am not cleared to speak on the subject. But I can say it's not some conspiracy theory. Most likely human error.

Sad thing is incidents like this might happen more and more. I was a operator at Marathon Wilmington for 11 years. One of the reasons I left was because of who we were hiring. There has always been bad operators but now most refineries have put in a requirement for some sort of degree or so many years of refinery experience. When I was hired they concentrated on having a high mechanical aptitude. Most of these new guys couldn't change their own cars oil.

Now there is more to it then just that but the industry had changed alot since when I started and now that I am a contractor and travel to other refineries, I see it and hear the something from other operators with 10+ years of experience.

Yeah. Fccu coming down for the first time for a major since 2018 I think. Pretty sure either a flange was opened on either the wrong side of a iso. Or opened on a wrong line altogether. Can't wait to hear what the investigation finds. I'm not sure if this plant will even reopen after this one. It created quite a bit of damage from what I hear.
