Have a question about ceiling fans and controllers. 16 years ago ceiling fans were installed using single switch and crappy remotes. Being that it was 16 years ago no one cared about the controls and life went on. 8 years ago and the kitchen living room and entry was remodeled. At the time the ceiling fans were retained but there was some wiring done. The addition of the a wall switch that eliminated the remote and the addition of a dual wall switch for each the light and fan. I thought that the electrician added wiring That allowed this to work.

Fast forward to today and changing out the fan because there are a few issues with the original fans and remotes. I pull out the fan and it turns out that there is a controller type of fixture within the fan hanging assembly. I have not pulled out the wall switch at this time I just pulled the old fan rewired the new fan installed it and all is good. Now the question that I have are these parts still available as I’d like to ditch the remotes and go with this type of set up.

I thought what the hell I’d just go to Home Depot and pick up this Lutron stitch/remote transponder and the receiver for the fan. We I did see the new wall switches but there is nothing else. I have also searched the receiver part and it appears that it is no longer stocked.

How should I go about setting up the other 4 fans and lights as this one that works?

I did a bit more digging and found this Instruction sheet with part numbers. Maybe this system has gone to the way side for the smart home technology.

Lutron Caseta system has fan control switches, but it needs a hub.
I have it for most lights in my house (not fans though) and it works great.
Your remotes are replaced with your phones and it's easy to add automatic routines.

We set our river house up with the Lutron set up for the fans as well as the lights. I can control everything from my phone 200 miles away and the app is super user friendly. Highly recommended.

Thanks guys was trying not to make this such a big deal. Will most likely just set up the crappy remotes. The wall would be best but getting the apps just puts it at one more level that some will have difficulties with. Keep the suggestions coming. 👍

I'm going to toss this out there, although to be honest, I'm not exactly clear on your original question.
These types of fan controllers operate off RF, so just two wires are required between the wall switch box and the fan, like a black and white as an example.
Switch goes in place of old single pole switch, and small controller gets wired into the fan housing. Connections would be similar to the Lutron, but nothing fancy.
No Wi-Fi, no smart phone apps, just press a button for one of three speeds, or press the light button to control dimming of the light, about $ 50 on Amazon or you can pay Hubble $ 121 for the same controller.

Rather than provide a two page Amazon link --- just google
