Our masonry guy delivered and set up this fire pit as part of our back yard build. It’s a cool piece, weighs close to 1000 pounds, they rolled it in with a fork lift. He’s not around today and I’m really curious to figure out what it is. Says Nordberg on it, I’ve been googling around and it looks like a vintage piece for a cement factory or mining operation? Cone crusher?

Any insights RDP?

Don’t know what it is, but it’s a nice piece.

It's 1/2 of a rock crusher. I have one also in my back yard. We had a friend weld up a cooking grate for it.

We dug a hole and added gravel for drainage. Break out the center so it will drain.

You are right it is 1/2 of a cone crusher...does it show wear on the outside??? That is the bottom half sitting upside down...

Looks like someone added concrete to plug the hole. I guess if you are using this on a deck then that makes sense. Mine is open at the bottom for drainage.

Good point ill have the guys smash out the concrete or drill a few holes in it.

It looks a little tired, probably used up it’s useful life. It will last 1000 years as a fire pit.

WOW, what a great spot. I would never leave. That is a mans dream right there. Sit, relax and watch the water roll by.
