Who tagged my taco shop? I was sitting at one of the tables enjoying a taco when I glanced up and saw this. I almost choked due to laughter.:D

Hey,

Have you ever thought about opening one in Phoenix. I was just telling my wife the other day, Chronic Tacos is one of the things I miss most about Huntington.

Be careful if you're tagging buoys. Damaging or defacing navigational aids on a Federal Waterway is a Federal Offense punishable by up to 5 years in Prison and a $25,000 fine.

Even more so, as they are placed there to protect an environmentally sensitive area.

Well if it makes you feel any better I've never stuck one of my stickers on anything.. Been meaning to stick one on my truck but still haven't got around to it yet. LOL

Personally (and professionally) I don't see one bit of difference between a bunch of punk gang bangers tagging public property or a bunch of "responsible" boaters tagging public property.

Either way you look at it, it's vandalism.

Well I'd say there's a difference between spray paint / permanent marker and an easily removed sticker.. But overall I'd agree, hence the reason why I don't put em anywhere.

What if it is done in a tasteful manner?

Someone has to clean them off or replace them. Usually a Government body, or in the case of the Keys, the Homeowners Association.

That means higher fees for boating, higher taxes or higher HOA dues.

Not to mention that if the markings on the buoy are obscured, there may be a defense to a violation. Or that a person won't abide by the restriction and go blasting through the Keys, damaging moored boats. Or they may not know that they're entering a dangerous area, (rocks/hazard) Dam or swim area.

One little buoy may not seem like a big deal, except that we see this on a lot of buoys on the River, Lakes, and waterways across the Country. It takes literally millions of dollars annually to maintain just the inland Navigational Aids.

Maybe instead of "RD SUX" there should be stickers saying "VANDALISM SUX."
