I have a friend that was a truck driver and he won a couple of truck rodeos where you have to do a lot of backing up. He would kill this.

I like this idea. To really test the skills, the rig should be a lifted crew cab long bed truck with a single axle jet ski trailer.:D

...and no reverse cam.

Well, I've had the same boat for 11 years now. I think I'm pretty familiar with how it reacts and all. I think I could do quiet well.

But ya, crew cab long bed with an empty jet ski trailer that is narrower than the truck..... separate the patient from the rest. Lol!

I'd enter...

The classes should be single, double, and triple axle though... the drunk part is a given :D

I'll go one more: the venue should be the islander ramp at around 9pm :thumbsup

who thinks they could launch a boat that is hooked to a 5th wheel trailer pulled by a truck?

Let's take it one step further. Let's add a woman's class. I've seen my wife back that shit up better than some men. I actually think she's better at it intoxicated.

It's not automatic. You still control it but you use a know to steer the trailer so you don't have to worry about turning left to go right kind of thing.

No, the only thing it qualifies the driver for is the prize for the Biggest Sissy La La.

On the other hand, I guess if you don't have to pay attention to backing the trailer, you can watch your wife in the mirrors as she stares at the real men on the ramp.

;) :D

Yeah I know and dont own one but saw it the other day and had to laugh....in a few years youll be able to hit a botton on the key fob and have the truck drive itself down the ramp

That's why I said sometimes no super trucker here and it's for more than 25 to 50 feet if that , but I have had to chain or use a come along between sets on both sides of the trailers to hook them together to back up few times and they where empty .

Out of the Army many moons ago I worked for an LTL trucking company. I started in the yard hooking sets of doubles. Probably hooked a hundred sets in a shift. I have no problem backing a gear under a back box. Backing up a set is pretty hard but we used do it for fun when we had time.

Whatever you bitches are crying about is child's play. Lol. If it will fit somewhere I can back it in there.

You don't back trailers in with forklifts. You use a tractor.( that's a truck lol)

Seriously though with that job as a yard hostler you had to make so many moves per hour. Every trailer you pick up has to be backed into a position somewhere in the yard. Backing up to me is the same as going forward. And I'm the worst teacher.

It's like driving a manual.
You either car, or you can't...and don't ask me to teach you if you can't, because "it's complicated".

....and make it a lifted Ford F-250. Mine doesn't turn worth a darn. 3 lane U turns. And don't try a u-turn with it on the Las Vegas strip. No Bueno.

There's no guess work involved in backing up a trailer, and definitely no using the rear view mirror either. Know the width of your trailer, know the width of the space you're backing into, and know how to control it.

The desire for ever increasing laziness in this society will be the straw that breaks the camel's back and folds the house of cards.
