Are you sure, every year it seems someone has posted he died and it goes viral.

Man, I never really am wrapped up with celebrities but this really bums me out. 90 years is a good run. He had so many great lines, I love when he was inducted into the hall of fame, and he "insisted" that he really should have gone in as a player. Another great was when asked how to catch a knuckleball, and he basically said to wait for it to stop rolling, and then go pick it up.

I am glad my generation got to see him in Major League, and not just Mr. Belvedere, but with all that, playing in the bigs, broadcasting for decades, and being on Carson 100 times, there really will never be anyone like him. Thank you for the laughs.

His appearances on Carson are legendary. Looking forward to a trip down memory lane watching them after work.

I’ve seen it on multiple news outlets, but who knows?? Can’t believe anything you read, hear or see these days

Shit! I loved listening to him. Probably my 2nd favorite baseball personality. He is 2nd to only the great Vin Skully.

Artie Lange and Norm McDonald sat in the booth with him one time and the stories were great. When I get a chance I’ll post some of them if I can find them.
Remember the Miller Light commercials

Growing up in Milwaukee Uecker was the man. In front of the TV it was volume down and radio up for the Uecker play by play.

He's awesome - I live in CLE, laughing stock of what was the movie "Major League" loved that movie - have a "Wildthing" jersey, and sometimes wear it to the game.

"We're at the top of the third, and I'm already at the bottom of my fifth." - or something along those lines.

Great actor/announcer - and if you read anything about him, just a genuine guy all around.
