I am trying to find the easiest way to put the Suburban on a trickle charger. It sits for weeks at a time and I forget to turn it on until the alarm system tells me the battery is low. I got the alarm this morning and It barely started, so I need to do something. The Suburban is parked along a wall. The battery is on wall side with no walk around room. So you can't easily get to the battery clips. I have read you can't start the car on the trickle charger on either so I can't back it up to reach. Is there any product that doesn't require me getting a step stool out and reaching across the hood to remove the alligator clips?

Buy a battery tender junior. It comes with a fused dongle with ring terminals to bolt to the battery so it just plugs in. Leave the dongle hanging out of the hood, and just plug in the charger.

They sell an extension cable if the 6' cable on the charger is not long enough.

Maybe get a jumper box also. I understand the batteries need to be maintained also.

I recently bought the Noco Boost HD GB70. Works great. It easily started my boat after sitting with dead batteries for about 8 months.

The jumper box is a good idea as well since there's no way I can get another car next to it to jump it. Thanks!

LOF is right.
I have those battery tenders on everything.. some of mine are 15plus years old and work no problem....
bolt the cord to battery thermals and zip tie the wire so it dont get in fan and have it come out the bottom of the engine bay. they have a cap that seals it..

Have the battery tested, a tender is not made to charge a fully drained battery. This could possibly damage the unit. Do not use a trickle charger as they usually stay on constantly and will overcharge a battery. Battery tenders are good for the price.

Possibly plug into the 12v assy (cig lighter). don't know about the modern electronics but I do that with my boat and Beetle... works like a charm

using a battery tender

Finally got the extension. Routed the cable below the grill on the bottom tow hook so it’s a place that is easily reachable when parked. So it’s mostly out of sight and easy to plug into the wall adapter. Very happy with it so far. Thank you for the help!
