I have not seen any aggression to Canadians by the public. I have seen that no one really cares about the govt. situation when it comes to personal interactions, and my area has a lot of snowbirds from Canada. A lot. But, in my past experience, every financial dealing I’ve had with someone here visiting from Canada has gone poorly, with them thinking that their US dollar bill somehow has more value than mine and they are above me. Condescending would be putting it lightly.

Me personally, don't really think about it. My feelings are that the ones who are canceling are not wanting to support America by spending time or money here. Unless that person from Canada said "eh" I wouldn't even know they were from Canada.

....have you seen of heard of this behavior in your friend/acquaintance circles?

It's definitely a thing.
Canadian carriers reported this earlier than the US carriers in this article did.
Like it or not, how is it surprising after dialing up rhetoric against one's neighbor to 11 is not going to cause a reaction?

What surprises me is DT made a big part of his $$$ in the entertainment / hotel / resort / travel business - and this is the first industry that's going to take a big hit with no real way to retaliate?

I think they are just using this an excuse to punish us in the States. They are pissed about the tariffs, so lets make up shit.
I think they are more pissed about the 51st state nonsense, can't really blame them. As for aggressive behavior towards them being Canadian I think that's nonsense as well, but it might stem from where they get their news info from. If they just were on Reddit all day then I could see why they would ask something like this...

Humans are in general very proud and support their “group”, whether it be their family, school, or country.

So if someone attacks their group, or speaks disparagingly of their group, the natural reaction is predictable.

No different than what we would do as Americans if the shoe was on the other foot.

Having lost my virginity to a lovely Canadian back in '63 😘, we're good. 👍 😁
My wife is a Canadian citizen, I’ve noticed some aggressive behavior from her lately. I think she should stay home for Desert Storm. 🤪
My brother is Canadian borne as well, Edmonton. He made tri-tip on Sunday and it was delish.....so I assume we're all good😉😁😂

They're the only ones with more arrogance than americans lol
I never had any problem with the Quebecers when I worked up there, but when the bastards searched my truck and tried to find my cigarettes and gun. I left and never plan to ever go to Canada again.🤣 Hell I don’t even smoke. 🙄

More than likely Canadian media trying to create hysteria. Anything to garner hatred toward Trump and his ambitions.

Local news in Phoenix was saying how upset they are and how much Canadians bring to the AZ economy. So, we should fold our hand on the trade imbalance issues because of the snowbirds from Canada? If you are that bitter, we understand. Go home and stay there next winter, we will figure it out.

How would anyone know if they're Canadians?

Is the accent that noticeable? I don't know any of them, but my suggestion would be to tell them to stop being pussies, we've got enough of them already.

From what I have seen, like minded folks get along. I'm sure there are a mix of right and left snowbirds. The one I used to have at my river pad was a rancher, nice guy and fairly "conservative". The Canuck who's coach I've been working on, tradesman and really nice guy, had a Trump flag on his sandrail.

I think, in general, nobody really cares where someone is from, as long as they aren't told they're "wrong".

I was in total wine in Phoenix not more than an hour ago, and there was a Canadian couple in there buying whiskey because they’d said it’s been taken off the shelves up there(?) and they were going to sneak some home.. 😂🤷🏻‍♂️

The sales guy laughed.

I haven’t witnessed (or heard about) any hostility towards canucks aside from it being about them booing our national anthem..

This is the first I've heard of it. I thought it was the other way around and Americans shouldn't travel to Canada.

The exchange rate is the real problem, the perception of hostility is a convenient passive aggressive excuse. I have a direct report in Canada that hopes they become the 51st state so she can get the hell out of Toronto and move to a warmer climate. She says all her friends feel the same way, because they have been over run by immigrants from India.

Back to nature the only truth, the media is a lie.

I love Canada.
I made good money years ago working for the DC boys making runs from Nova Scotia to Anchorage.
In Edmonton I once got laid 3 times in one night just hanging out in that giant mall.
Even the Mounties were always laid back and halfway cool compared to our tight ass cops.
Except the border guys…but that worked both ways.
Now, the east side of Canada…that’s a different story. Once I was west of Saskatchewan id usually feel pretty good.

LOL. I never heard of that. Probably their government and media feeding them shit. I wouldn't know a Canadian if I saw or heard one. I don't think people dislike them.

Sorry. Didnt take time to read it all but 3 different encounters with Canadians in havasu over last 2 weeks and all 3 said they were going home because they didn’t feel “comfortable”. All said about registering, fingerprints, etc. if you are in another country and have to do that at 30, 60, 90 days….,whatever. Every other country does it!!! Glad we r finally enforcing our laws

Just don’t fly the Canadian flag while they’re on the water, or any Restaurant/Bar, and things should be fine. 😁
