Question for toplessracing in making a Deck boat version...

Any plans to produce a version of this boat with an open deck? You know, kinda like what Tom Papp offered as a 21 Mirage Fundeck, which is now sold as Ultra 21 Deck?

There sure is a lot of demand for a boat like that with an open Deck in a jet as more and more people like myself need to carry family in a high performance jet boat that rides nice instead of the traditional V boat.

I, for one will be lining up to order one if you make it. Unfortunately, Ultra is the only name in the game right now and their prices seem to be quite cost prohibitive for average working Joe like me and many of my friends.

Please let us know if you'd consider tooling a deck like Ultra's for the same bottom that you have.

Mike, when is the last time you priced an Ultra? LOL.. I've been talking to Big John a little, and the prices are about 2 hairs above cost (no joke).

Well Dave... The last time that I talked to Ultra (which was just a few months ago), they wanted around 30K just for the bare hull... And according to Ron's website, I can get a 5.7xt for $7500.00... I'd be more than willin' to pay $10K for a Deck version, if Ron offered it.

30K does seem a bit pricey for a bare hull .. Is this something you're looking to rig yourself? Or have them build the boat? I was talking to John about completed boats.

Oops... No, I didn't... I thought that it was a 21. Oh well, even a 19 deck would be OK as it provides a heck of a lot more room than what is out there... I'd still buy it.

Well.... From what I hear, Greg is doing the riggin' for Ultra anyways so don't think that he's gonna start building his own version when there already is one that Ultra provides. Especially since they are physically at the same location off of 91 and Maple.
