Yes, when the Granddaughter was small and sick, my son kept her at home until she was better.
School age kids are like petrie dishes, ya never know who they have been around to get a bug.

I don’t have grand kids yet but I remember about 7-8 years ago we were at my wife’s sister’s house for Christmas and her daughter came over and had the Flu and I wasn’t happy that she was there. Needless to say the wife and I got sick from her and was in bed for a week. I was pissed.

My mom is constantly getting sick from my kids. Staying away has never even crossed her mind, but my dad is the opposite way and would prefer to stay away if the kids are sick

If you get sick easy than its a sign that your immune systems is weak. Vitamin d3 is important to your immune system. You should also take k2 with d3. I take 10-30k IU's a day. Dont take that much if you are not taking magnesium. Take magnesium glycinate (to much citrate will give you the runs). You also need zinc. You should also take potassium.

I have an electrolyte i take , it has 1000 mg of potassium. You need about 4000 grams from all sources. Do not over do potassium.

NAC (N-Acetyl-L-cysteine) is something i started taking recently. Man does it clear out the lungs and sinuses.

Your gut biome also plays a big role in your immune system. Prebiotics and probiotics.

Your gut biome starts in your mouth. Surprisingly what we do for oral care is bad for our gut health and digestion. Fluoride destroys the good bacteria in your mouth. I started using revitin toothpaste. i get it on line. Do not use mouthwash either.

I also avoid tap water and take my own water with me. I have a ro system

Avoid over the counter meds and pain killers.

Lastly exercise helps with the immune system. If you dont excercise start by walking and then increase your exercise level. Everyone needs regular strenuous exercise. I am 66 semi retired and work in a home improvement center. I walk 5-10 miles a day after work i go the gym. I am in best shape i have been in 20 years. I get sick less and recover faster. You choose your life and health. I choose to be fit and active and refuse to be the guy in the scooter.

I think it depends on the grandparents immune system. Mom worked at a school...immunity. Pops was only sick a handful of times...ever.

Some people can lick doorknobs and be fine. Some hear a sneeze and have a cold the next day. If you get sick more often, probably best to at least keep some space...or douse with Lysol.

You vaccinated....haha. Sorry, I'm not vaccinated or anything. I'm around sick people all day everyday and I just keep plugging along. I'm in sales though so God probably doesn't want me up there.

Dope up on the Vit C. As @rivrrts429 stated, if they stay away every time they are sick, you'll never see them. Wash your hands a lot, don't kiss them. Teach them to cover their mouth when they cough or sneeze. Our granddaughter is aware to not give hugs when she's sick. Sometimes I take a hug anyway, because I was a teacher also and have already been exposed to everything under the sun. 😂

I also have absolutely no problem picking her up from school when she's sick if mom and dad can't do it. That's my role.

Being a teacher is pretty much the same thing as licking the handrails at Disneyland lol
There isn’t a thing you haven’t been exposed to as a teacher. You’ll outlive all of us 😂

I take any snot filled, yogurt faced hug I can get, i understand others with compromised systems, but that hug especially lap sitting when not feeling well with you! probably is more comforting than with parents, depending on frequency and your connection to the kids.

I don't have grandkids myself, but the opposite is true for me. My dad is 84. He's still relatively healthy but it would kill me if I got him sick and that killed him (or led to it). So I will tell him when I can't visit because I'm not feeling well or I've been exposed to others who might be sick.

I got 9 grandkids, if you or your kids are sick, don’t invite me over and do not come over, F off.
Unless they can pay me more then I earn for work to stay home sick, otherwise keep your coughing snot faces the fuck away from me, lol

Sounds like this is settled, but please don't do what my Dad and his GF did. We were told not to visit because they had a cruise coming up and didn't want to get sick... Because of geography we hadn't seen him in nearly 2 years. I figured out real quick where we are in the order of things.

Guess I was raised differently. If I was sick mom dropped me off at Grandmas and Grandpa’s and they waited on me hand and foot and nursed me back to health while mom and dad were at work.

It will be the same way when I have grandkids. Hell my wife will probably make us go over to their house so the little shits can stay in their own beds.

I get way sicker hanging out with old people at the Islander than I do hanging out with a 4 year old. I will gladly take whatever sickness she is carrying in trade for face time.
X2 here, I’ll take any and all time with our granddaughter. She’ll be here later today for a couple days. Cancelled our Havasu trip this weekend to hang out.

When the school calls, My wife and I are the "first responders" ...

Few weeks ago I get the call. Grandson, 6yo, stomach hurts.. I go pick him up, he looks fine..I'm suspicious but I don't say anything

Walking across the parking lot I ask him "you wanna race to the truck?" He says ya! and takes off running...

Ok I get it... so we go home and relax on the couch and watch a little tv.

About an hour later he jumps up in a panic and runs to the bath room. About 10 feet short of the toilet he lays on the floor calling my name...

Managed to get him to the toilet in time.... Apparently something he ate. Felt bad I doubted him to begin with.

So yes, always here when they're sick... Just part of being a grand parent

Our daughter works from home. Granddaughter does not have preschool on Fridays. Usually her other grandma takes her for the day. This particular day, granddaughter (barely 4 at the time) gets about 4 miles from home with other grandma and decides she has a tummy ache and starts crying. So other grandma, who lives 10 miles away, takes her back home in a panic, not knowing what to do. So she drops her off. My daughter calls me saying that Rose has this tummy ache and would I come and stay at their house with her so she can get through her meetings for the day. I'm thinking, heck no. I'm not sitting at your house all day fighting the 4 year old who wants mommy's attention while she's trying to work. I stop by, pick up the little one, and take her to my house. She can have her tummy ache at my house. My suspicions were correct that she had no tummy ache, because I never heard a single word about her tummy after I gave her a peppermint and we watched about 1/2 hour of Bluey together on the couch. She ate all her lunch, we played in the garden, she took a nap. Just a normal day at Poppa and Gigi's house. How on earth did the other grandma raise three children??? Good lord! LOL

I'm guessing you don't have kids???

Man I was sick Constantly when my kids were in grammar school! Inconsiderate fucktard parents who take their fucktard kids to school sick, and then the spreading begins.

Round and round it goes till the kids get into jr high or so.

Gawd I don't miss those days one bit.

Keep em home bitches!!! You shouldn't have had kids if you didn't wanna accept responsibility for having a kid!!!

Condoms are waaaaaaay cheaper!!!
