You know you’re getting old when you can’t talk your way out of a ticket. ☹️😳

A running joke for Larry & I as I’ve wiggled my way out of NUMEROUS and haven’t had a ticket in over 20 years.

So I got popped for rolling a stop. Larry’s been ribbing me ever since but carefully as he fears karma.

So as he said in another thread ~ he drove me to court the other day and got pulled over ~ FOR ROLLING A STOP. 🤨

Obviously this is Parker PD’s latest 💰💰💰 grab & we’ve seen quite a few people pulled over lately, mostly on Friday’s.

There’s a line BEFORE the crosswalk . . . they don’t even want your bumper over the line. The more you know . . . ☺️

When did the black unmarked police or hwy patrol Mustang show up? They had someone pulled over on the way up Thursday and another one pulled over today on the way home. Both just south of Shea Rd.

Where in town seems to be the most prevalent area they are targeting?

I got nailed for that years ago in CA. They said you need to stop before the limit line, then if you want to proceed to roll forward so you can actually see oncoming traffic then you can do that.

If you’re talking about not stopping for a red traffic signal, it’s a violation if you cross the limit line after the signal turned red. Why is that when some break a law and get a ticket it obviously a City’s or police department’s latest money grab and has nothing to do with the driver not obeying they the law. It is easier to blame the City or police for one's actions!

I didn’t even know Parker had stop signs.

But seriously, driving home the other day I saw PPD, La Paz, and DPS all out working traffic in Parker. Not sure which was which, but somebody has a fully unmarked mustang, and several unmarked F150’s. DPS if I had to guess.

I use to see them roll people all night long on the uphill turn south of whiskey river, as a matter of fact i got rolled there in 78 in my buddy's trans am, it was mid-morning 7am and I had a couple beers in me already, so I got off cheap.

The locals have nothing to give so instead you pick on the that people do. So they target boaters or vehicles they don’t know. Because we can and do pay the fines. It’s the same reason that you see multiple jurisdictions patrolling they want a part of the pie on the river and the water. Same goes with the sand dunes, multiple entities patrolling that you would never see in day to day life. But they are there for the money. While I agree that the law is the law, apply it equally. Get BLM and game a fish to enforce laws on homeless camps…. Won’t happen because there’s no money

Rolling right turns seem to be the norm these days. Whether stop sign or light. I actually wouldn't mind seeing a little enforcement in my town.

The “Rolling Stop” isn’t the only thing they are now over enforcing.
I know 4 people who have been cited in the last 2 months for not obeying the “Move Over” law that began in 2022 in Arizona(California has it as well).
What is the law?
7835855A-D365-419C-A1B9-17C97497FEC3.jpeg

All four of them were cited between the casino and Riverside drive.
They set you up in 2 ways.
1..,The officer will be sitting on the shoulder with his lights on and no one pulled over. If you don’t give him a full lane or dramatically reduce speed, he’ll put it in gear and pull you over.
2…One officer will have a vehicle pulled over and a second officer will pull in behind him…don’t move over, the second guy will come get you.
I have seen both these traps multiple times my last two trips out there.
I have always moved over when someone is on the side of the road.
But remember a half of a lane is still against the law. Take a full lane and move early as they are definitely watching you in that stretch.
Two of the four I know moved over 3/4 of a lane and got pulled over.
Also, they have been making money enforcing the 55mph speed limit through there for years. I won’t run over 60, and get passed all the time.
Can’t imagine how many dollars have been made along that short stretch of highway!

They did exactly that to my wife in the Durango a couple decades ago. She had the kids with her, and they were little.

I was in my truck just ahead of her, so I pulled over and watched from my mirrors.

She got away with a warning. Neither of us really knew about that rule!

It’s tourist season. They must of mistaken you as one. I’ll bet you were missing your RDP bumper Sticker, “get out of jail free” RDP membership card, and t-Shirt. 😜

Anyone one of them would have shown your local. 😁

Do they just cite you and take your $$$ or do they make a deal out of asking if you're sober and all that? If they just want the money I'm ok with that lol.

See that a lot in Laughlin. Saw this guy hammered at Kathrines pull out of the ramp before me, then I see him pulled over after that bridge in between the casinos.. Saw him a few hours later in the bar lol.

CHP has been heavy on Rice Road too. Normally there is only one black and white on Rice Road, but lately I have seen three. Unfortunately, I found the third car. After some nice chit-chat, he reduced my ticket drastically.

A Few weeks ago, that black mustang was nailing EVERYONE on the corner of the 95 & Riverside Drive. He must have been there about 4 or 5 hours and made enough $$$ to keep Parker PD going for another year! 😅

I'm in Marina Manor on the other side of the highway. Your statement is 100% true! That is a great spot for the PD to nail people HaHa!

What was your speed, just curious. I try to stay under 80 mph, wondering if they would stop you at say 78 or 79 or should I slow it down (not towing). I see others going a lot faster.

The intersection pictured got me last summer too. I made the decision to not stop for the yellow light because I honestly didnt think my truck would have stopped before the limit line and and I would have been in the intersection. Unfortunately for me, there was a PPD waiting to make a right onto 95 and he chased me through the intersection. What I learned through all of that is that any part of your vehicle that is not past the limit lines on either side, meaning some part of your vehicle is in the intersection, when the light turns red, you have run a red light. I grew up being told it was better to clear the intersection rather than stop in the middle. Stopping in the middle probably would have gotten me a warning this last time. And its not that I didnt see the Officer, or that I was speeding, I followed him all the way from before Bluewater until he got over a lane to turn right lol

What’d that asshole look like?
Clean cut guy that grew up in the Canyon Lake / Menifee area, lives in Havasu, use to work a Sports Stop Bar in Canyon Lake, (my home town). I'm not sure he's on RDP.

After driving down Rice Rd (177 / 62) for over 30+ years, I've only had one ticket and I don’t really plan on more. But speed was 83 in a 65, not towing. I’d recommend the speed limit. CHP officer was cool, wrote the ticket for 70 in a 65. Traffic school cleared it.

Not sure I haven’t been pulled over I tend to only keep 5-8 mph over the limit

Met a new CHP in Parker at Big Belly Subs on Memorial weekend. About 7’ tall and looked a little like officer Farva. Nice guy. I’m not sure how comfy it is in a car all day being that big.

That sounds like one sexy motherfucker right there. But he’s absolutely not new. 🤓

FARVA?? Jesus man. 😕

I was in traffic court once and watched a guy fight his ticket for am incomplete stop on a motorcycle. Cop testifies that it is a valid ticket because "you can't come to a complete stop without putting your foot down."
Cyclist says "yes you can. I do it all the time. I've been riding for 40 years, and I've learned a few things."
Surprisingly the judge sided with the biker.

Jeez. I’m rolling into Parker for the day on Friday. Sounds like I should get my license, registration insurance ready now for the impending ticket.

I’ll be towing a jet böte too, so maybe a ticket is already warranted.

I’ll be in the tattoo chair, so good luck.

I usually set the cruise at 70 as soon as I get to the 55 by Runningman, everyone else seems to run about the same. Surprised I haven't been pulled over, it's usually 9pm when I'm passing through. Always stay less than 5 over in town though. I will be more careful now.

I get tickets for anything 6-7 mph over the speed limit. So I typically only do 5 over.

Yeah I get passed like it’s going out of style but then I usually catch up to these guys having a nice conversation with the CHP a few miles ahead of me when I pass them.

The DPA cars are usually grey. They also have reflective tape on the back bumper.
The chargers are kind of easy to spot. This mustang I saw him sitting on the on ramp parked in the dirt first thought gotta be a dps.

Sure enough a speeder passes by this guy burns out like roscoe p Coltraine onto rear of speeder and lights flash lol.

Anytime you have to hide to do your job.. the idea that the job is noble goes right out the window..

Personally I think unmarked cars should be illegal.
