Someone said they have to drain the oil out of the engine(s) before they tilt it. Anyone know if that’s true?

Here’s the situation. 700’s are wet sump engines. I tilt it only when traveling. In a perfect world, dry sump or pumping oil out would be better. But I’ve experienced zero issues tilting for 3-4 hours.

When I start, I get a small puff of what little oil burns. It’s literally nothing.

All other liquids are in tilt ready tanks or dipsticks.

What were you driving? Wasn’t much traffic today. I took the 71 from the 93 to Aguila today.

Vulture Mine Rd is gonna be closed when we go home, I can’t go under the Wickenburg bridge tilted and want to try that road, never been on it.
I was in my white mega cab w sled deck. I passed you when we hit the passing lanes above cat tail. Gave a honk and wave. You were in the zone lol.

OK, another question from a green pilgrim. . . . .

How much fuel can you keep in the tank and tip it?

Kinda wondering. . . when we would go to the lakes around here, you would most times fuel up along the way. Cheaper than the marina.

Can the fuel tank be filled completely and then tipped? That's a lot of weight for a big tank. Also, venting on the tank. . . . would fuel leak out if full when tilted?

Boat holds 240. I’ve tilted it nearly full, probably 220? Fills are on the port side, as are the vents. Tilts port up . Never had any fuel issues.

The Riviera is fair on their fuel prices. I’ll usually fill there.

Retrieving and relaunching is a PIA with this thing. Only a few stations in town are big enough anyway. I just happily pay the difference for 91 non-ethanol on the water.

220 or so will last me 3-4 days.

The tanks on a Skater are actually the sponsons. There are no metal tanks.

Ah cool was just south of 303. We were at range then wild horse for breakfast.

I figured it was a dcb headed to lake for testing or something.
Were you at one of the new BLM ranges? I’m going to start back at Saddleback long range now that it’s cooled off.

Helluva bank for a road course. 😆
Riverside Raceway had a high banked right(turn9) but all the real exciting stuff happened at turn6....it's uphill approach & off camber hard right next to a concrete wall left many left front fenders smashed. The dicing through chicanes 4 & 5 were crazy 🤪 .

Church camp is a nice facility, but far too much Rambo/Goretex for my liking.

Normally only one or two other shooters at Saddleback. Often, nobody. Have you shot at Baldy Mtn yet?

Agree on church camp but early sat wasn’t bad. 200 yard side was empty my iron sighted a2 was killin it. I shot at the one south side of 74 long range not sure of the name. At the time the one past scorpion bay entrance wasn’t open yet. I’ll prob go midweek early dec no time til then.

The one past scorpion bay is Baldy Mtn. It’s hot or miss on being open.

The one pictured is called Saddleback Mountain I think? That’s my favorite, other than no benches and having to drag a cart through gravel to the firing line.

For others who don’t know, those berms are 200-300-400-500-700
