Anyone interested in making a prototype for me. This is not the final design. It actually will be a little simpler. It will be make out of aluminum. The piece will be about 2” x 2” x 1”

Those two bottom pieces hanging down will be a problem .
Thicker is better and better is less time

How about a 3-printed model

We will be doing the 3D printing as the first step. There are other ideas of making the legs singular and thicker. This was just the first iteration that was enough to post up.

Can you have it laser cut and weld the tabs on?
Certainly could do that. Was also thinking about drilling and use a few pins to align,

If possible, do a slot and tab for the ears hanging down to simplify location during assembly.

Send the model and I'll check it out. [email protected]

I am out of town for a few days. I don’t have the file with me as I did not create it.
What thickness is the metal?
The final product is about 3/16” thick. Just about everything can change if it makes it easier.

That is what we were thinking to make it a bit easier. Thanks for the suggestion.

At a quick glance I would make it 3 pieces with slots that the 2 pieces slide into and get welded. If you make it 1/8" or thicker it would be pretty easy to weld. I would get it cnc cut either plasma or laser. How precise does everything need to be? You might need to make a jig so when you weld it everything stays in alignment.
