So I took one of the trucks in to see about tires because it was looking like the rubber was cracking between the tread. The sales guy looked up the truck and told me these tires are from 2019 and we got 84k miles on them I cannot believe it but it I feel that is a good service life for an all terrain tire. He said it was probably the best he has seen and with the tread left thinks the could probably get close to 90k. We are changing them out due to age but props to Falken for the good tires that lasted. 👍🏻

I got almost 85k on my last set. Wildpeak A/T 12.50 x 37" on my dually. I gladly bought another set. Amazing tire and quiet too.

Tried to get 37s for the 350 and they are scarce and not making the at4 yet in my size.

Had to do a national search for Toyo RT Trails and found one set. what going on again?

I've been real pleased with mine on the F150 4x4. Great wear pattern.

This is good to hear. Back in 2009 my wife’s Acura needed tires, and the Michelins were so expensive. The tire shop went too was hyping up this newer tire brand called Falken. I had been running Toyos on my truck and liked them, and was told Falken is like Toyo as they are a Japan tire, and they were a new upcoming tire. So I put them on the Acura and within the first 25 miles I knew I was going to hate them. 24k miles later they were totally wore out. So I swore to never buy Faken again.

Then in the past year more & more of my friends are switching from Toyo to Falken as we are all disappointed in the new Toyo AT3 tire. The Toyo AT2 was a better tire. I will not buy another set of Toyos. The tire shop I used is also big on Falken now and he is/was a big dealer for Toyo. He too is seeing the same issues I’m seeing with the Toyo AT3 tires. I’m now thinking of putting the Falken’s on my new Silverado after I do the leveling kit in the front. Either Falken or Cooper as I put those on my H3 and they ride really nice and are quite, but the tread looks better on the Falken.

Toyo and Nitto started sucking round 2012. I had Michelin Defender LTX on my service truck. 76K miles and still had at least 30% tread left. They would've easily gone 100K miles but the AZ sun wore them out at the 5 year mark. Long story short I bought some Yokohama 056 highway tires so I could get the truck home from a jobsite. Something about the Michelin defender not made anymore in the size I want. The Michelins ride nicer.

Coopers don’t seem to last quite as long but do better in the rain on my wife’s Jeep.

I had zero complaints about the Toyo Open Country AT2 and got 50K plus out of each set and they wore even and were fairly quiet through the life of the tire. This was on a 2001 Silverado. Swore I’d never run anything else. Then I got the AT3 and at first no complaints, but about 6 months in they seemed to get noisier. I’d rotate and no change. I even reached out to Toyo to see if the new tread design was just a nosier tire, as the tread looked fine. They said to get the tires checked out as they could warranty if bad. They checked out fine and the tread wear was good for the milage and no unevenness or balance issues. Then about a 1 1/2 in the tire was seeing cracks between the tread. I was not the only one seeing this issue. I later found out that Toyo had changed the tire compound and whatever preservative they put in the rubber, was not the same. I guess this is common on the Toyos now, and some of the tire noise could be because they changed the material compounds? I also started seeing quicker wear at half tread on the tire. Not sure I’d get 50K+ out of them? Again no issues on the AT2 tire, and I had 3 sets of them.

This truck was in a bad wreck and unfortunately totaled a few months ago, which is why I have a new truck now. My wife had a Ford Edge and it came with Michelins and I’ve now replaced twice with Michelins. The Michelin is a great tire and has always worked well on that car. (Don’t fix what’s not broke)

Yeah I don’t know what life I’ll get out of the Cooper AT3 XLT? The reviews give high praise for the wear. I’m sure they will dry rot first as I don’t drive the Hummer H3 much. Maybe 5-6K a year? I just knew I was not putting Toyo’s on it, and was still steadfast to not buying the Falkens. But now here we are and I’m very much considering Falkens for my new truck.

It’s interesting how some tires just work better than others on different vehicles. As you mentioned the Cooper is better on your Jeep.

Just put Kenda R/T on Gladiator. Never really heard about them before but the reviews were off the wall about how good they were. We'll see. This tire is probably too aggressive for daily but they have others. They were about a hundy apiece cheaper than the comparable others.

Falkens used to wear out in a hurry…which has kept me from considering them. If I want a 25k mile tire I’ll buy a BFG.

Looks like that has changed?

I was at Sema in 2016 or so with my bus. At the after party we were hanging out by the bus and a Falken rep came up and offered me tires for it if they could shoot it for some adds. Hell yea. 6 225/70-19.5 for free was fine with me. They are still on it and where good. the 14 ply doesn't help the ride though.

You are spot on the old Falkens like pre 2010’s sucked ass something fierce.

But they are great now. I choose them over Toyo at this point. Only thing I will put on my many trucks I have had over the years is Toyo and Falken. I have bought 2 trucks with BFG and they were rock flingin paint chipping pos!

I had about 75,000 on a recent set of Wild Peak H/Ts. Figured they had enough tread to at least get me through the summer, but had to replace them because one started separating on a recent river trip. I replaced with the same.

After losing three 320 dollar Pirellis in two pothole incidents, I switched to 180 dollar Falkens. I like them so much I just put 35” Wildpeak M/T’s on the Jeep.

I put a new set of K02s on my 1500HD back in about 2015 or 16 or so....they were chunked and down to about 3/32 in 20K miles. BFG offered me $15 each towards 2 new tires. Fuck BFG in the ass with a rusty spork....never again.

Need tires for the Tacoma....I'll look into Falkens.

I just put on a set of Toyo Proxes ST's on my wife's SUV. The best price I found was from Wheel Hub USA, which offers mobile installation. They came to my house in Irvine and installed them. Legit. My wife is hard on tires, hopefully, these will last.

I've had 3 sets of Falkens (33/35) and they were quieter and lasted longer than any other tire I've owned.

Yes but of course they discontinued them so on to the AT4
AT4's are even better with more mileage warranty the the 3's also Falkens have a road hazard on their AT's which most others don't.

Not better if you live where it snows. They took a lot of the siping out in the 4 which is a loss of ice traction (vs the 3).

My truck (F 150) is now at 202,000 miles. I just put on the third set of Falken Wildpeaks. They last ages. Original brakes and pads too. Odd, because i tow a lot.

I thought all Wildpeaks AT’s were 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake rated? Sucks if they changed that from the 3’s to 4’s.

The 3 and 4 are both 3MSF rated, but the tire videos I watched compared the two and said the 4 had less siping.
