Property tax rates in Nashville, Tenn., will be increasing by 34 percent in what Mayor John Cooper described as a “painful but necessary” move that will raise money for the city, which has taken a hit during the pandemic.

So only property owners get to bear the pain, while everybody gets to vote? I’m not saying we go back to the days where only property owners could vote on everything, but I do think that on certain matters, the votes of property owners should carry more weight. They have more skin in the game, so it’s only fair.

In the current situation, a property owner gets screwed over CV-19 costs while a renter or someone like that goes free without any impact even though CV-19 affected society as a whole. That’s not fair. The pain needs to be shared equally.

I been up on my soapbox for YEARS saying if one doesn't own property, one don't vote!!!!!! They have NO skin in the game and should NOT vote.

Sweet. So can all the Libturds flock there to pay the higher taxes they want for everyone?
Nashville has already became quite liberal as many "artists" have flocked there in recent years

For sure. The country went to hell in 1860 when any white man was allowed to vote
