Thinking of switching way better rate for auto.
What do you guys think? I had them 15 years ago and they treated me good.

I have Progressive for all my stuff. Vehicles, Boat, Home, MH (when I had it). Been with them for probably 25 years now. Never had an issue with claims, outrageous premium increases, or other problems. Very responsive with paying claims. Only claims on the cars was when my wife drove over a big rock and dinged up the undercarriage on her Acadia and once when she didn't put the car in park and "bumped" into the garage door. No damage to the Tahoe, but they bought us a new garage door. Same with a couple of claims on the pontoon boat. Because of how long we've been with them, there was no premium increase, with their "accident forgiveness".

If you're careful and don't have a lot of claims, the disappearing deductible saves money when something does happen. The higher the deductible the cheaper the policy. If you can throw $500 - $1,000 into an unused bank account to cover the deductible, it'll save you thousands in the long run.

And as a comparison, I joined USAA, just to see what they could do. They were actually about 40% higher than Progressive, so I deleted my USAA account. I'll take my insurance advice from a comedienne in Converse, rather than a former football player named Gronk.

Progressive here also.
They insure my autos and 1 investment home here in NV.
State Farm was actually less expensive for my auto's registered in OR.

I also have Progressive for everything.
Got tired of having to deal with agents and waiting days for an answer.
I can do everything online and play with deductibles and limits on my own.
You can get multiple home quotes in minutes.
If i have a question they can chat with you in less than a minute.
Did have a big increase on one home policy this year but kind of expected it with rising home values.

They are in our office / shop weekly and I can say they are pretty responsive and rates are great but you will fight to get good parts from them . They are really tight on how they handle claims ,,

Since Covid they have been using used parts to fix vehicles. They will buy parts from a LKQ or take "good" parts from a totaled vehicle and use them on the fixable car. Same with the lizard man.

Switched to progressive when Allstate dropped my commercial auto and waverunners.

Then when they raised my personal auto another 40% after 40% the previous year.
So now both auto and waverunners. If Allstate raises the offroad Toys and boat I will use progressive on them as well.

I'm with USAA.

But, for RV's, boats, motorcycle, SxS, USAA partners with Progressive.

Been extremely happy with rates and having to file a claim.

Progressive covers all claims no questions asked. Covered and paid for everything with 2 claims submitted.

Motorcycle. . . . Covered not only the motorcycle but all my gear. Helmet, boots, gloves, AeroStich suit, even the tent and camping gear strapped to the bike. The covered the flashlight in my tank bag.

Half tempted to switch a couple other vehicles to Progressive from USAA

I had Progressive insurance for 4 years, until I read the fine print on my boat policy. It stated they were authorized to use "used" parts with boat repairs. I changed to AAA immediately. Read the fine print carefully.

My Mom has been with AAA for 25+ years. Never a claim until a few months ago. Her tailgate was stolen from her New Tacoma. They would only use used parts. I got into with the auto body manager over it. And he said that's all they use for AAA and if he bid new it would jeopardize him being a authorized shop. I have used that shop in the past and always referred them until that. I ended up having AAA send me the check and got it done myself. As the shop won't tell you where the parts come from.

What's wrong with a used tail gate? Scuff it, prime it and paint it to match the color.

As long as it's not broken, rusted or damaged, i'd settle for a used tail gate. They are going to have to paint the new one.

Same with a door, hood, fender. If its off another Toyota and its an original OEM, I'd take it.

Rust protection and sealant is probably better. Done at the assembly plant where they dunk the entire vehicle in electrically charged primer.

New part only gets a paper thin coating of sprayed on cheap black paint. Body shop ain't going to paint the areas where spray on primer won't go. Like inside the tail gate and the seams inside the tail gate.

I tried Progressive. Put all my vehicles and offroad toys on 2 separate policies. They asked me if I ever had any claims and I said no as I have never been in an accident. Couple weeks later after paying I get a letter that I'm being dropped as I wasn't honest. I called Progressive and said what the heck. They told me I had 2 windshield claims in the years past and didn't disclose them. Dropped. F that company. Had no idea free glass repalcement was looked at like that.

He replied one of my guys will go out and get 1. Probably steal it was my thoughts. So I asked how do I know its not stolen. He couldn't answer that.

The new would be $4400 when I went to Toyota. The body shop wanted like $3700 for used. So for $700 why support a theft ring. Just get a new 1.

He replied again they will only install used parts per AAA. I mentioned the Lexus that they just repaired few months prior I dropped off. And he replied not AAA gets new parts per insurance.

I have had progressive on the boat since day one. Had one claim for damage when I fucked up and hit an unmarked rock bar across from Havasu springs. No deductible at that point and no increase in rates. Switched the cars from State Farm....we were "bundled" to save on Homeowners. I noticed continuous rate increases in 23, called my agent and she very nonchalantly declared, yep going up next month too. Switched to Progressive. about half of what I was paying SF. went even lower when I moved to Havasu late in the year.
