Walked to the backyard and around the house!

No crutches!!

I took my first stand up shower in almost 5 months today..

Doesn’t sound like a big deal, but god damn you can feel that depression washing away.. .

Down at my favorite deli now getting a sandwich! Back on the crutches though.. Shit is swelling back up on the quick.

Had almost the identical break, only I broke mine riding motocross. I know exactly where you are at and it will get better but don't slack on PT otherwise you'll walk with a slight limp for the rest of your life. I have to tell people otherwise they think I just walk around like a pimp.

Outstanding! Literally! Like they’ve said,take it easy. I’m almost one year post op from a repair on my shoulder, and last week I did a stupid maneuver, and I think I tore my rotator cuff again. I thought I was good to go, and forgot about taking it easy. Shit don’t heal like when we were kids.

Good deal. Things like that make big differences in the mental state, and that helps accelerate the healing. I remember vividly answering the PT girl when she asked what I really wanted from recovery...I looked at her from the bed and motioned towards the bathroom, "I just want to be able to go to the bathroom without help or a bag". For the next three months, taking showers on a folding barstool in the smaller shower stall, so I could use my good arm to catch myself. About the 5th month, I was able to walk good enough to have a cane, and that was when I got tired. Bathroom/walking were major, showering standing up was great, but the first day I went without a cane or a walker was when I knew shit was going to work out.

Keep on it. Do what they say. No matter what, your body will tell you when you've over done it.
