We are staying at the lake Powell resort at wahweap. Super convienent. I never leave the boat in the water but logistics here make it simpler than launching and retrieving. I can tell you more details if you’d like. Mainly the resort is a ways away and the golf cart picks you up at the slips and gives you a ride to your rooms. Seems like the people at the launch ramp have to make the walk back and forth which isn’t easy. Resort is really nice. Rooms are a bit old but nicest I’ve had on the river compared to other spots. If you camp do you pull the boat each day and or set up tent each day? I think that we went down to that end of the lake and recall a camp area that we drove though. Not sure if many were there. We stayed in Page at a hotel and the owner of our boat parked at the hotel the one night. Not sure how we are going to do it. Not really wanting to leave the boat in the water over night Nor do I think that they wife would want to camp. Still checking all options out.
We’ve been going since 86 there. Most of family brings motorhome. I had a cabover for a few years but that’s sold and doing a quick trip. Rey of family will be motorhome and trailerYou talking tent camping?

Found info by searching the inter web. Who’d a thunk’d that???Lone Rock Beach Campground At Lake Powell
While camping at Lone Rock Campground, be sure to swim in the crystal blue waters. You can also boat — both motorized and human-powered — or enjoy the only designated ATV area in Glen Canyon.www.visitutah.com

Na I leave boat in water. If I wake up early and feel like boating or water ski I just untie and go. Come in end of day tie up and walk to my chair. Grew up doing it this way. I do t want to deal with rides or driving at end of day.If you camp do you pull the boat each day and or set up tent each day? That does sound so nice to be able to do what you want. Am I crazy to be concerned or worried that a storm will blow in and the bildge not work and I show up in the morning to find the boat under water? But then again we can be out on the water for 12 hours without any issue. Just something that I need to watch and get past. Our bildge has only had to pump out water once. That was after it was serviced and the sea strainer was not installed correctly. I guess that I need to first boat more this year. Make sure that the days are long. Like sun up to sun down and then I can double check that everything is good for that length of time sitting on the water.Na I leave boat in water. We used to do this for many years but haven't for close to 20 now. I am really interested to hear about your trip and how it is getting the moho's down there. We’ve been going since 86 there. Probably same drill as before there’s always a hard pack part and of course the softer part which takes more work. Seems a lot have figured out the soft sand part though. I camp at glamis a lot and can get my trailer across 3/4 Mile of sand so for me it’s easy. My family scared to do the same though. We used to do this for many years but haven't for close to 20 now. Have a great time! Jealous!
I remember the hard pack and we always "scouted" the route to get down there. The group we used to go with and taught us the ropes drug their trailers and 5th wheels down there, no problem. Now that I have a motorhome I am like..."well...let's think about this a little more" and being a bit of a puss about it. I have seen motorhomes stuck and oh boy!Probably same drill as before there’s always a hard pack part and of course the softer part which takes more work. I’m sure it will be great if weather don’t ruin it seems past couple trips dealt with wind most of the time then of course day we go it’s fuckin perfect.
Lol hasn’t changed then still see them stuck and yiur watching them going wtf are they going that way. The euros still drive straight down bury the rental car etc. then you see the guy in a Moho drive up to trouble spot stop study and balls out send it little hop cheer him on he barely makes it.I remember the hard pack and we always "scouted" the route to get down there. Good point on checking the pump before you went onthe lake. Those are the things/tricks that I need to learn so I can have piece of mind. Heck my boat was in Powell for a few years used behind a house boat so it has been in these situations for a while. Just gotta man up I guess. LOL. Maybe when I nave a second boat then if one is lost oh well. LOLI can’t see anyone sleeping through a monsoon type storm while their boat takes on enough rain water to sink. When the storm hits you will be wide awake! Wave action would be something that could swamp a boat but bow out on anchor really eliminates most of that risk.
Even with no bildge pump there isn’t much that can sink it where being on anchor was the root cause. Bellows failure is the most likely reason to flood a boat and that can happen anywhere any time.
I just had my boat in a slip at Katherine’s landing for 3 days overnight last weekend . No worries at all, but I did fill my bildge before hand to test the auto bildge…
Seriously Everytime you get your but whopped by wind all week then the day you leave is just flat out amazing!Probably same drill as before there’s always a hard pack part and of course the softer part which takes more work.
