So my Boat has the pop up mushroom cleat , which I hate. I want to go to the pop up std cleat. Has anyone ever made the change using the same holes? Was it hard to do?

You can see in the picture lower right hand the cleat

pretty sure you're going to be enlarging the existing hole (elongating) and the bezel will likely cover the o.d of the existing hole depending on how large the existing hole is. There's a couple different sizes of pop up cleats to choose from. A template for the cutout will come with the cleat. It's not too hard to do if your handy/skilled with tools. Use masking tape at least several inches outside the dimension cutout to help protect from scratches, tool slips and chipping the edge of the gel coat as your drilling, cutting, grinding, shaping etc. Transfer the cutout shape onto the taped surface with a sharpie etc. Sharp drill bits and carbide burrs along with slow feeds and light pressure are best to help prevent against slipping, chipping etc. You can use a jig saw with fine tooth blade, slow feed and drills to make/end the elongated cutout hole or use a die grinder with a fluted burr very carefully/slowly to shape the hole. Thru bolt with at least fender washers behind it or a back up plate is best to help prevent against stress cracks down the road. I hope this is of help to you.
Note: practice on somebody else's boat to get the hang of it, then do yours correctly. haha

A standard "push button" pop up clear should be larger than your existing hole. The pull up slimline cleats, Im not sure will cover the hole or not but dimensions should be online.

Depending on the size of the hole you might be able to switch to quick pin cleats?

The reason for the change is I can’t get a bumper rope and tie off rope or line all on the same cleat. Plus they rattle as the subs are right near the front ones.

My dock lines are attached to my fenders, rigging that would be cheaper and easier than fitting new cleats. All I have for the rattle is slipping an o ring or similar over the cleat to eliminate metal on metal.
