I’m up 153% own 245 shares. Have owned since 2020 so I have been in the red for years. Making money now. Diamond hands. We are in the s&p which opens up for retirement accounts to buy consistently.
Also our competitors are way behind.

I got in at 18$ a share. What scares me is that they are a huge Lib run company. So what happens tonight?

$55.53 close… 8% Run today alone…
DAMN…

I am gonna pull trim my position soon. Take a bit of profits.. I might regret it, but its ran way to high, way to fast to not have a decent pullback.

FWIW……….

I thought I was the guy that brought PLTR to the attention of RDP.

So far……… I have tripled my investment since I first promoted PLTR.

Dont ask how much I own………. It’s bad enough that RDP knows how many NVDA shares I own. That’s the price I payed for being happy one day, last February. lol

Let’s just say……… my PLTR buy was significant. It was a good move too!

Hey, we love to hear “one of us” doing well! I hope you keep hitting it out of the park.

I bust my knuckles everyday and know absolutely nothing about investing but love to read about others success.

Xring brought up PLTR in early 2020 which is when I bought. My first buying was at $27 and I bought all the way down to $5. Had almost 500 shares at 1 point now I’m down to 245. Currently 180% gain.

I was confident enough to share my opinion, and back it up with the facts that I was sharing at that time, but I always had disclaimers.

I am very happy that you and your family benefitted from it.

I am no expert, nor did I have the confidence to go all in on PLTR, did I invest yes, but not enough to go all in.

Dude, I am very great-full that you shared your experience on NVDA. That taught me to be more of hold investor… Which creates the dilemma I am in today with PLTR.

Me too I want to hold long term. Can’t make big money if you sell before its goes to the moon. I already effed up on visa, amazon and vug from jumping out after a decent gain.

I truly appreciate the kind words………

I think the hardest part of holding long term are the peaks and valleys. Everytime the stock goes down, you can’t help but second guess yourself. NVDA is a perfect example recently. At one point, it’s at $140 a share, and I start preparing to become the bionic man. Instead…….. it slowly keeps dropping all the way to $100. That‘s over a 30% loss. At times like this, I continuously read analyst predictions when this happens. Mainly to reinforce my hold. Over the 11 year ride with NVDA, it dropped more than 30%, at least 4 or 5 times. Each time would bring the second guessing.

I must admit, over the years, it has become much easier to not panic. In fact, wihen NVDA did the drop over the summer, we hardly cared and never became too worried. I think it’s just because of the fact we had been down the road before, and it has always bounced back. Which it did.

It is important to remember that the stock market cannot continue at its current trajectory. Sure times are great now, but I also know what it’s like when the market goes the other way. My 2008 experience comes to mind. The retail investor is the first one to take it in the ass, is what I learned. lol

You can add me to the list of people you influenced. That influence is also getting past on to my kids, so you are making a positive impact by sharing your story. I appreciate you and others sharing insight here at RDP.

I had a buddy watch me buy into PLTR and talk shit as I kept loosing my ass week after week.

He bought in at the $5-7 area and sold low teens and said I was crazy to not dump it when I broke even. I sold a good chunk when it broke back to even. Glad I ignored him.

Stocks in hot sectors, that have the long term story, financials in order and get good enough #s Qtr after Qtr, are very hard to find.

Thats one of the key things that gave me the confidence in PLTR.

Bigger question?
Whats the next NVDA, PLTR, AMZN NFLX, etc…

I hear you…….. It’s hard to try to figure out the next big thing.

Every stock you listed, at one time, was in an emerging market. The key is to spot and invest in those markets.

Based on that, reading about future markets and trends is where the next hot stocks will probably come. As an example, in approx 15 to 20 years from now, there will most likely be a AMAZON of marijuana. The one company that broke free from the others, and eventually dominates the market. It’s stock purchased today, could possibly be the next NVDA. However, you can’t tell the future winners from loosers yet, so you would have to invest in several. I am just using this subject as an example. I personally wouldn’t invest in this market. I am just pointing out that this market has the potential to eventually have a dominate player, or select few, that hover above the rest. Eventually even the top ones will buy each other out. Again, eventually it will be just one major player. Just like Airbnb used to compete with vrbo, but now, they are owned by the same owner. I think it’s a hedge fund that currently owns them and other similar companies. Their investment potential has left the barn……long ago.

For me, I must admit, for the last several days, I have been wondering how I can get a piece of the next election cycle. 16 billion was spent on the 2024 elections nationwide. That number will continue to increase. Who do I need to invest with, in order to cash in on future elections. I actually thought about starting a thread asking…….. what products and services do campaigns need, pay for, utilize, contract to, etc? I am mainly interested because I have never seen so much money pissed away, like they do during election season. It’s spent like Monopoly money. I want some? lol

Next election. All the advertising, I bet Google Youtube, raked in the $$$ this time, bBut does that even move the needle on the overall Qty earnings? Guess we will see.

For sure you on to something, now we just have to solve the future riddle 🤯.

Solid State Batteries,

They exist, they are stupid expensive, IF someone figures out how to build large cost effective ones… that would be a company worth investing into.

I have played around with QS during CV, but have not had the time to dig into that tech the last few years.

The whole idea about retiring at 67, is having enough cash flow to cover your expenses, and a paid off home.

Start by saving enough to generate 40 hours of salary income. You’ll need to do that 52 times by the time you retire.😉

These were some of the first solid state batteries I can remember. 😁
