Placecraft 23' Deck

[River Runner]

Anyone have one? My wife and I really want a deck boat and have been looking for a while, we really like the Placecraft 23' preferably with a jet. Any thoughts good or bad? We have a 91', 21' Ultra Jet open bow with a 454 and it rides rough and we are looking to upgrade from our starter boat. Thanks for your thoughts and opinions.

How is this boat with an outboard set up? I have only seen one rigged this way..

Really awesome looking boat, and like you I would get a jet because of where I boat. If you are buying new I would be weary. I have heard of people having problems with build dates being met. I forget the thread, but I believe there is a build in jets on this site, or performanceboats.com. "Sorry Dave:grumble:"

Don't apollogize to me buddy.. LOL I think part of the reason this place is growing so rapidly is that people actually get information from it..

I don't care where they get it, so long as they come here first and either get it here, or get pointed in the right direction as to where to get it.

As far as build dates.. I can't even remember who ended up with the molds. Didn't Domin8tor end up with them?






With things being as "negotiable" as they are right now, I'd also look at a 26' Ultra Deck.. You might be able to get one built for around the same price as that 23.

As far as the 26. If you can get a 26' ultra for the same price point. That isn't even question in my mind. Forget the jet, but that boat is bad ass.:thumbsup

X2. I really like the boat (I/O version), but have never ridden in one. I'm pretty happy with our current boat, it's something I've been looking @ in the future. Looks like a good performance boat, but doesn't look too bad with a wakeboard rack also.

The molds were bought by Domin8er. They had popped a bunch of them & were trying to sell a bunch of unrigged hulls a while back - boatrader I think, might still be there.

Domn8er use to have the old 22, which was then dealt to Shockwave. Placecraft has the new 23ft....

Hey Riverrunner, this is my the 04 model 22 ft. Stepcat 496 H.O. I/O This is my third boat now, an i have to say this 22 ft deck is by far my fav. !! This boat is perfect for the river, when on plane very little draft. I run the 24 bravo 1 and she will do 65 all day, and tops out at about 76 with this set-up. Had the 26 on her and she was low 80's. Storage can be a little tight but deff. recomend this boat!!

You really should read this thread before you pull the trigger. 5150WAKE was warned. His summer was a bust cause of Placecrafts rob Peter to build Pauls sales tactics. Their sale guy was good. Too bad too cause that hull is bad a$$ in a jet or I/O.
