Pizza joint Ventura

Got to go up that way tomorrow. We ate at a place overlooking a harbor entrance. Must be getting old be I can't remember where is was. Any one familiar with this.

Toppers was my thought too, isn’t at the entrance though. There was a place at Ventura on the walk but it’s gone. @Tank

It had a balcony that overlooked some boat docks. We went during covid. As you were looking out there was a bridge.

It’s toppers but it’s in the Channel Islands harbor at Channel Islands Blvd and peninsula rd. If you go, walk in and look to your right. This photo is hanging there. It’s our house.

If you’re going to be in Ventura though I recommend Tony’s pizza on Thompson Blvd at Figueroa st.

You gotta go to the Rudder Room when you’re there. It’s a dive bar that smells like piss when you walk in. Oh and the bartender is a dick, but it’s the only place you can get a cheap drink and sit outside on the sand.

You're right, we haven't had a lot of great Pizza here in TO, But we do now. Slice House,Parma,Deninos are all excellent places..

East coast in Simi is pretty good but Vincenzo's was the absolute best, the owner retired and no one wanted to buy it, it was packed every night of the week, it closed 20 years ago

Pizza Cookery's owner is a bad ass mofo....he's a vietnam vet, and stayed open thru Covid despite being fined.
He posted a copy of the Constitution on the front door with a warning to anyone who entered his premesis and infringed on his rights!

They still have a stack of little pamplets by the front door - pocket sized copies of the constitution, for those who need to do some learnin . . .

I will always support that guy!

We went there twice a week to support him during covid and still go every other week, good food and good atmosphere. I had a thread about him during covid. Jordan is a great guy

Actually Amici’s pizza in Newbury Park is great , Doug the owner is cool , tell him Gordon says Hi
