Sacatto’s are bitchin, but not the right choice for newbies, they’re competition guns that just recently made the jump to mass production. I’ve shot several of their models, super high performance pistols and super accurate.
Cons: super expensive, prone to malfunctions, require regular care and maintenance.

This was the first handgun I bought a while back:

I’ve since added an Sig P365, an S&W .380, and an S&W 38 wheel. The Canik is still my favorite one to shoot. It’s never once jammed on me. Feels great in my hand, the single action trigger is as good as anything I’ve pulled. It has a simple decocker, which I like for a new gun owner, it holds 17+1, and it’s less than $400-. Not sure what more you could ask for in a first firearm.

My friend suggested the Taurus G3C. It looks fairly cheap in price. Does it work like a cheap gun?
Have a P89 and I think it’s a bit big. The gifts will be for them to keep for occasional shooting for fun and a standby for home defense.

You will get mixed feedback on Taurus, back in the day they had some real poor quality products, yet they have turned it around I feel. I bought a Taurus 12+ years ago at an auction and ran it threw the ringer and never an issue. A few years back I bought a Taurus G3C and love the feel and performance of it. I have them ranging from $100 to four digit firearms, the G3c fits the hands real well and shoots great! The mag lock up is a little loose in the frame of the gun, yet overall I give the firearm a 9/10. They come with three mags and usually have a rebate for them. Can be had around $250 or so.
