I went over to the puddle today to watch the races. All I can say is that if you have ever thought that water ski racing was something that might interest you, this is the event for you. I literally saw three generations of water ski family's all enjoying the same thing as a family (not a common site today). I cannot go on on enough how impressed I was with the family atmosphere I witnessed today. This event was pretty low key and would be perfect for someone to get there feet wet in the sport. As soon as I got there I was made to feel like I was welcome, offers to ski in the relay, boats to pull me, equipment to borrow. I was half tempted to jump on a ski and have a go at it, but I decided that shooting pics and getting this event some exposure was more important for the time being. This same event will be held in September and I highly advise going and getting involved in some capacity. There really is an event for any skill level and years of experience to guide you through the process, This is not an intimidating event what so ever and the passion shared by all involved is second to none. The entire lake was closed down for this event and they used the whole thing:thumbsup

However with a baby coming in June I dont see a lot of river time for us this summer. That being said I am down to head to the puddle and do some laps in the meantime. I'm thinking that pailing race might be just my speed.

Can't wait to see the rest! That was a great fun day yesterday. If you did not have the chance to come out to the race, you HAVE to do it next time! You will not regret it.

time to get this finished up. One thing that I did not mention before was the format for the races. There were heats all day long 2,3,4 and 5 laps. they ran a pretty efficiant program and there was minimal down time between races.
