Pretty stoked on the new truck, I have always driven a Chevy, I was looking for a new truck and decided to check out the Rams, so far I love this thing!
The reason the Power Wagon does not have a Cummins option is that just about everything that makes it a Power Wagon is not very compatible with the Cummins engine. The V-8 gas Hemi engine takes up less room than the inline 6 Cummins. Road and Track mentioned the fact that there would not be room for the winch if there was a Cummins in it. Another reason is that the Cummins engine is also much heavier than the 6.4L Hemi. The Cummins is 1050-1150 lbs dry, whilst the 6.4L HEMI is around 500lbs. Probably not a great idea to have a nose heavy off-road truck. Better throttle response from a gas engine might just be what you need as you’re trying to negotiate a rock.Always wondered why you can’t get that model with the Cummins. I switched to ram Cummins this year, very happy with it.

Ride is great, better than my Chevy 1500The weight wheeling is the main issue. Reason why you see so many V10 Fords in the dunes.
How is the ride? Is it softer in the rear? They rate the power wagon at 9900lb tow rating while the standard 6.4 truck is 16k. Also the payload is less than half.

I was 3 or 4 riding in one, my older brother had in the Hungarian air force, left behind in the end of WWII. Was a bumpy ride, would love to have yours.
Is the front end still an issue on these trucks? I thought Chrysler would have addressed the problems by now.Great truck - get some Carli stuff underneath it and put 37's on it and you're good-to-go
it can all come off w/ a hair dryer. I initially didn't like it but its growing on me, once I get the windows tinted I will figure out if I want it on or not.can you remove all the "POWER WAGON" stuff or is it paint, stamped into the tailgate, etc? like the truck and features but the pile of badges at the door, banner on the side and rear tailgate are pretty hideous.

View attachment 699679 In the mid 60's I drove a 48' Power Wagon for setting temporary power poles. Had a super HD rack for carrying a half dozen poles and a gin pole with winch up front for setting and pulling them.
The thing wasn't worthy of a straight line race with a turtle, but good God, in low/low it was unstoppable, even in sloppy mud over the running boards, the tires would spin but it would keep moving forward. You could actually put it in low/low on dirt, let the clutch out, get out, take a piss, then walk back over and climb back in Just don't ever, under any circumstances allow your thumb to wrap around the steering wheel, or you'd lose it for sure
Nice looking GSP!View attachment 699671
I have the Grandfather of your new Power Wagon.
1942 Dodge Weapons Carrier.
Edit...
I restored everything back to original, 6 volt, new wiring w/ correct cloth sheathing, etc.
With 5:83 gears 45 MPH is a big deal. I balanced the rotating assy but at just 50 MPH I think the pistons are swapping cylinders.
Even told a guy at a car show that was trying to pick it apart that I bought a 1944 air compressor with 1944 air still in it to air up the tires.
My lake truck is the original Power Wagon with that graphics package, one of the Adult Toys.
I love it! took it to Havasu over thanksgiving, towed a small trailer (maybe 3k) didn't even know it was there, average MPG 11.8So, how do you like it so far?
If anything ever happens to my 05 cummins, I’m ditching the diesel and going for a 6.4 power wagon.
It’s been almost a month, what do like/dislike about your new power wagon?
My buddy's parents had a dodge back in high school(1983) had a 440 4bl in it was a beast!!! Nice truck brought back some great memories thanks!!My lake truck is the original Power Wagon with that graphics package, one of the Adult Toys.

No regrets, I have about just over 3k miles on it. (2) trips to Havasu and (2) to Ransburg w/ no issues. Going to Havasu I average 15.6 MPG, not great but its worth it. I end up w/ a 1/4 tank when I get there, bout the same as my Chevy 1500. The Uconnect system sucks. Nowhere near as user friendly as on-star. The app drags and the WIFI is spotty. Stereo kicks ass, its not the Kenwood and its still great, I imagine the Kenwood would be even better.
Did they switch it up? The 2018 my Dad picked up has an Alpine setup. The Uconnect seems easy to use to me. What don't you like about it? I have the mylink in my Chevy. Seems about the same just a little different.

Sorry for late reply. It’s a 2016 granite crystal metallic with sport package. I love this truck. What year is that? Paint match the chrome or sport package?
Did you tow to havasu?
I pulled the trigger today, Bill Luke in phx. It’s incredible, I’m paying cash, and they insisted on a credit app. Wouldn’t sell to me without it. If they weren’t $2k less, I would have had them pound sand.
They gave some bs that the government makes them do it to check for money laundering,That's because they are making $$$ on the credit app!! Congrats on the new truck, post photos!
What options? Leather? 6.4? Axle ratio? They gave some bs that the government makes them do it to check for money laundering,
Truck is still on the train. Maybe next week
