Maybe it was sparks in the center tank?

Remember flight 800? They didn't know anything about a missile then either.

One of my best friends is in charge of the airspace over DC.
He's stationed at Fort McNair and his CO is at NORAD.

After talking to him, I confident that the people who need to know what the hell that thing was...they know. The media may not be privy to an explanation, but shit like this doesn't just go unnoticed.

Our airspace is under much tighter control that any of us realize.

Someone played a joke on RiverDave. They shook his bud light lime in a paint shaker and when he opened it, it took off like a missile.

This is so true....best not to create a sence of mass hysteria. Assess the threat and react.

Dang, I remember as a kid this stuff scared the freaking crap out of us. My friend lived closed to March AFB and hearing the house shake during the night, the rumble of the B-52's as they did their drills. Seeing the 24/7 manned B-52's at the end of the runway at march AFB.

Anybody else?

Yup, those were different times.
I remember the movie "The Day After" came out, about a post-nuclear-war world...that shit had us kids terrified.

Kids today don't know what it was like to live during the Cold war, even if I was only in the tail-end of it (born in '71).

I was stationed at March AFB from 80-82 and worked the flight line daily, so I know the sound you are talking about.

It was a football that Chuck Norris threw. Brett Farve is supposed to be on the receiving end and will catch it with one hand while taking a picture of his c*ck with the other ;)

Relax Inmates, that was just us, launching the Davesat 69 Sattelite into orbit. We are moving forward towards total internet domination, and this is just another step along that road. It actually was supposed to take a more westerly track and not be so obvious, but like an idiot I gave Dave the launch box, he was drunk on Bud Light Limes....and he says "whats this button do?" and launches it....Heres a picture we snapped as it was going up...

The Govnt knows exactly what it is and don't be fooled they dont. It was one of two things if I had to guess.

1) A thwarted attack that we wont hear about for 10-20 years from now.
2) Top secret testing that our govnt doesnt want our enemies to know about.

Either way, carry on Govnt. I for one don't need to know 1/10 of the sh!t you're up too. Just let me sleep at night knowing that you'll kill any mutha f*cker who threatens this nation!

A miss fire? Don't those things take 2 different people to turn keys, and push buttons then a hatch has to open? Its not a shotgun somebody accidently bumped the trigger on.:smackhead

I can agree on number 2 easier than number 1, if it was a thwarted attack I would think there would have been a large presence of military assets in the area quick fast and in a hurry. Not saying its not possible, but I would think they would respond hard and fast??

I would have to guess it was the aftermath of the Dave meltdown as chronicled elsewhere in this total domineering, rocket launching, beer drinking, waammbulance chasing, drama queen infested swamp we all know and love, heretofor known as River Diva's Place.

They interviewed the Director of the FAA who said it did not show up on radar and was not a commercial airline. Later in the same interview, this ball bag said it was an "Optical Illusion" and although it appeared to be rising from the horizon, it was a jet fly horizontal. The reporter then said, " I thought there were no flights in the area." No answer from FAA. The reporter then asked what was the bright fireball at the back of this "Optical Illusion." FAA guy said it was a reflection from the sun.....WTF. :bash:

Reflection off the object that did not show up on radar.

My theory is that it was aliens who saw the economy and got the hell out of here.....

Last night at around 930 pm I saw what appeared to be a large rocket with ball of flames in trail coming down and it looked as if it would of landed between Portugese bend and Catalina. Personally I am thinking it was a rocket of some sort. I did not see the take off but saw the video and pictures. My friend that was with me and also witnessed it thought it was a large meteor coming down. The people with the best view are on the backside of PV and the Terranea resort where the old marineland used to be. It was clearly large enough to show up on radar and the government is keeping this quiet for a reason. If this went unnoticed by the government we got issues...

I was stationed at Norton A.F.B. from February of '72 until December of '75. I remember all those noises very well and somehow learned how to sleep through them.
