4500 cfs is typical daily low water flow rate here in big river. The water is flowing here and rising pretty quick. Scheduled flow rate @ 7am here is 12,600 cfs and 14,100 by 8 am and continuing to climb to 19,200 by 2 pm today. Projections thru the weekend indicate there will ample water thru the weekend and beyond.

Thursdays are always a little lower, due to water needs in the Palo Verde Valley Irrigation District (Blythe). As much rain we've had this spring, Palo Verde walked back their order, which allowed them to reduce the flow. CRIT has also agreed to lay fallow several hundred acres of farmland, also reducing their water needs. You'll probably be seeing more of this as BOR tries to retain as much water as possible in Lake Mead.

We were waterfront at the races (qualifying) at Bluewater yesterday, probably around 11:00 the water went down about three feet in a half an hour, the announcer even commented on maybe having to take a pause in the action for a few. Within a half an hour it was up higher than when we got there. Must be a big plug the can pull and replace at the Bluewater dam lol.

I don't get it. I can't think of a reason to have the water that high on that stretch of river. If they are trying to hold back more water due to less of a need (I doubt it) then that should start at Powell then Mead. No good reason I can think of to over fill Parker. What am I missing?

Looking at releases from the Dams, early this morning, it increased from Parker Dam and reduced from Headgate. Flows at the Parker gauge (located near Castle Rock) went from 2,537 CFS at 7AM to 4,140 at 10 AM. Flows at Water Wheel (below Headgate Dam) went from 11,357 CFS to 6,425. I was told an automatic flow switch failed at Headgate Dam.
