As I get closer to retirement I can't wait to turn into a "Snowbird"! The Strip is so peaceful in the winter time. Taking walks with the wife we were even invited by some real snowbirds (Canadians in our park) to join them in their daily walk to the bar...

Surprised the dock bar was closed? Any troubles getting down river from Fox's through the "pass" for lack of a better term with the water down that far?

Been away way to long from the rock, hell I even starting to miss using the shitty ramp.

Took the down river side to launch. Once the trailer is in the water you have to do a 45 degree turn up river so the trailer will fall into the large hole. Be careful not to go too far into the water as the trailer will bottom out at the far end of the hole and bend your license plate in half. Going this route you avoid the bottom of your trailer getting caught on the ever growing ledge. Tried the up river side when I took the boat out. Less of a ledge but still had to lock the hubs on the 90s F250 to drag the trailer over the ledge. Really sucks CRA has given up on our park as their lease is set to expire soon. But hey, rent increases don't stop!

Nope, still 10 to 12 feet. No issues skiing through there either as my foil has a deeper draft (when the board is touching the water and not flying) compared to the boat.

Yea it sucks, dumped my 2x2 just to get a 4x4 so I can pull boat out. Never see it getting fixed, Does lease really expire soon, I hear about it but take it as hear say. Heard Mark got fired a few weeks ago by someone, I knew that was bullshit.

Talking to Todd Pittner who still lives in the Park and does great concrete work... CRA bought the remaining time on his Dad's original lease and I believe is set to expire 2021 or 2022. River rumor was CRA put the place up for sale as BLM will not give CRA a new lease. BLM wants a new concessionaire to run the park as CRA hold too many BLM leases in the area.

Then, he bought Echo Lodge 40 years ago and resided there ever since, continuing to enjoy fishing and boating on the river.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Shirley J. Pittner. He is survived by his son, Steve; his grandsons Todd, Scott and A.J., and his sister, Lois Ronchetto.

Yea, but besides the part that the lease is up in 2022 pretty old stuff, so it has been for sale for over 8 years and no buyers? In probably the best market as far as people with money that could buy it the last 10 years. Did find out what my rent was in 2010 though. I see no one buying it, they aren't fixing it up so maybe in 2022 they will be able to renew the lease again. What about Donnie and Doris? Don't they have a deal like Todd?

Todd's deal was part of the Lease sale. D and D depends on who is running the park I guess. Not sure how sale works. Why buy when only a few remaining years left on the lease?

"The park is on a favorable 28 year BLM ground lease that was renewed Jan 1 1994 and will renew again on Dec 31, 2022, there are 12 years remaining. The lease renews in perpetuity. Lease payments are 4% max of the total gross income (3.2% average) based upon tiered benchmarks. A copy of the lease will be provided upon request."

Once lease expires I believe BLM will put it back on the market? Maybe the folks that run Pirates will buy? Just wish we could get our ramp fixed!
