It’s a free country and all, but if you’re wakesurfing or wakeboarding on the Parker Strip…. You should know that it’s really not cool. Yesterday, I watched first hand, boats and docks getting all banged up and damaged from the giant plowing wakes.
Hate to say it, but your fun is causing damage to others’ property.
If possible, could you please at least go launch on Havasu,? Better yet, go to Lake Mead to do that where there are a lot less boats and docks to damage??
Thanks!

Yup, I watch these F$#%ers everyday, they are ruining The Strip, and they don't care.😪

Trim up and floor it. Those dick wagons aren't going away. Best bet is to not be rattled by the wake and send er bud

In Havasu, they don't even find a big cove. They just plow down the middle of the lake.

Sometimes, I'll get in front of them and make a couple S turns and watch their surfer fall.

If they want to screw up the water for fun, so can I!

So, I'm not trying to start shit, not at all. but reading your post and then noticing your sig line made me smirk. Now that I've said that, those things are part of the reason the wife and I were at peace with selling the boat.

They really are out of control.. but make no mistake they are here to stay.. if you look at production their more popular brands build more boats in a month then the entire west coast custom boat scene combined.. by about ten times as well.

Agreed but I do expect to see them getting banned on some bodies of water and restrictions on others

I recall hearing over the summer that they restricted the use of ballasts on the Spokane River below CDA, and other Northern Idaho waterways due to erosion and damage to the docks and property. There is a small lake at the entrance to Glacier National Park that cut the hours and dates of wakeless speed primarily due to the wake tractors.

Don't ban the boats, just hold the captain responsible for the results of the use of the ballast.

What is the Q-mussels checkpoint process for a boat with ballast tanks? That must be a PITA, or they don't properly inspect them?

They should hold the captain accountable, absolutely. As far as the inspection goes they check everything but the tanks.

What I’ve noticed on busy weekends, is that when the wave dozers are working, and the total Volume of boats is large, the whole traffic has to slow down because of the rollers, and everyone is off plane, but not enough, and then they are creating a roller, and so on. Out in front of the lower keys entrance, especially. I took green water over the nose in my 255 Hallet this summer, that was a first for me. If I was in my schiada, id have been sunk.

Last evening some idiot put a wave over my dock, absolutely no reason for him to be that close to the dock as he was the only boat on the water in the area.

The damage that has occurred not only to my dock, but my concrete launch ramp as well is ridiculous.

I understand that in Australia they have been banned on at least two of the rivers there. I knew it was in the works on the Murray River where I have stayed in the past, so happy they got that resolved. The reasoning was it was damaging river banks, which can be evidenced by my launch ramp and sea wall.

Could they be made to stay down at the bottom end of the strip where the reeds mostly are? Or is that duck habitat or something?

Banning them on the strip makes sense. I'm guessing you would need to get traction on both the Arizona and California sides through some local government officials. Anyone have any contacts? Let's get this party started!

Right in front of Fox's would be a good place where everyone could watch them perform their feats of aerial prowess and cheer them on. :)

@21 Trick figured out a way to deal with the shitty water in Parker.

@Wheeler and I one day had to dam near come to a complete stop (in my friends 22ft Stoker) to deal with one of those wakes.

They are beyond ridiculous. 👎
That Stoker turns like it's on rails! I think we got a standing ovation from the RoadRunner peeps that day. :)

Best make it 6:00 am so we can beat most the dock crushers. Mike Mack is up earlier but he stays out front of CJ Bakers house fuckin up his dock. 🤣

i'm joking of course.

Might happen sooner than you think.

Not joking.

My only issuing with banning them, and im all for them going away, i dont like the wakes, or the music for the most part. is whats next to get banned? open headers, boats over 20', maybe a imposed speed limit? if i could snap my fingers and make the wake tractors go away i would, you want to surf? the beach is a few hours away.

Be careful what you ask for. Wishing for it is one thing. Starting the process in the courts is completely different.
It’s just one type of boat.
I get it and agree from the civil liberties aspect. I'm sure there's plenty of peeps there that hate the noise and the speed as well however, if I owned a pad on the river and my shit was getting destroyed by careless wave tractor operators I may not hesitate. Maybe the Popo should or could enforce unnecessary roughness as in plowing the river with no one in tow or getting too close to the shore/docks. I'm all for people having fun but have some respect for others safety and property as well. I also agree that there are f-tards owning and operating every type of watercraft that should have their privileges revoked. It's not the boats fault it's the jackwagon behind the wheel. In Havasu I see an equal number of large go fast power boat owners that dont have a clue either. A big powerful JetSki controlled by someone who has no idea of what it's capable of or what they're doing is probably my greatest fear on the water

Once the boater safety card is fully implemented it should help eliminate most of these problems. 😆

Slow, ugly, annoying and pricey. Never liked those boats, even though I've been on them a few times. Surfing and wakeboarding isn't even that fun to me, I don't get it. Going fast and loud is much more fun.
i agree with you. but the amount of metal flake some are using, im a big fan of. but the lines of the boat do nothing for me.

Not sure I fully follow but I definitely think they deserve the same treatment they give to everyone else on the lake.

Testing the smoothness of my hydraulic steering in the middle of the lake is no crime and my wake at 40 MPH has to be 10% of the wake tractor's wave.

But I have noticed that the small wake of mine throws a slight hiccup in that beautiful 4' surfing wave.

About a month ago, I submarined a slow ass 26' rental toon in a surfing wake where the driver thought it was great to do right outside of Steamboat. These boat owners are the new lake lice.

I do believe the boat owner is responsible for his wake and damage caused by same. Boat numbers, video, and a call to file a complaint.

Sounds like Canyon Lake.. I’ll stick with Havasu as is. I don’t have a problem with go fast boats and can avoid lake lice

I’ll say it again…

As I’ve watched boats and wakes grow in size over the past 3 decades, I find some level of enjoyment from the big boat crowd now crying over these plow boat wakes.

If you’re one of these big boat cry babies get over it. Your boat was built to drive over this shit. 😝😝

I'm not ready to jump on the 'ban' wagon (pun intended0 just yet. I grew up wakeboarding so the wake boats will always have a place in my heart. LOL!

BUT, I don't really understand the wake surf crap... We wake boarded and wake skated back in the day. A big wake was knee high with a nice lip. Now these damn boats are putting out waist high waves just so you can pump and do a little surface tricks at 10mph. Pretty fucking lame, fun for a minute, but lame.
I don't have a house on the water, but I do get irritated when I have my boat beached and one of these things goes by plowing. When I see one coming, I get ready. If that means go grab the boat, or chop the throttles and steer into it so I don't toss my passengers. Once they pass, I just go about my day enjoying being on the water.
