Just received this letter today. This is GREAT NEWS!!
-------------------------
Dear Devin Wozencraft
A funny thing happened at last month?s Miami International Boat Show. Right after the opening breakfast, National Marine Manufacturers Association president Thom Dammrich and I had an impromptu meeting in the aisle. The outcome of that encounter and the decisions we made will change my life, for at least the near term. Long term, the result of our meeting could significantly impact the boating market in Southern California. The Duncan McIntosh Co. purchased the Los Angeles and San Diego international boat shows from NMMA.
I can remember being a very young boat dealer standing under an old brown canvas tent at the Pan Pacific. Outside, rain was pouring down ? the water was up to my ankles ? while inside it was also pouring down rain through the aging top. But who cared? It was winter and this was the big Los Angeles Boat Show. Years later it moved to the Convention Center, where it has stayed to this day.
This is a huge responsibility, and we?re honored NMMA felt we were up to the task of carrying on the tradition. The San Diego International Boat Show takes place in just three months. If you have already placed your order, we have it and will begin moving forward with the show presently. If you haven?t placed your order, please contact our office at 949-660-6150. Our immediate plans for this year before the San Diego Show, is to combine the two Newport Shows into one big show at Lido in May and eliminate the Newport September show. The LA show is many months away, and we plan to take our time and poll our industry friends and colleagues about what they would like to see in Los Angeles.
Hope to talk soon.
All the best,
Duncan McIntosh
