Obviously the 2k ++ system is going to rock and if you have the cash to take advantage of paradises offer I would.

I have 4 of the original non Alexa Sonos in my back yard. As mentioned they aren’t water proof put mine are mounted under cover.

They cost about $145 each on amazon or Best Buy.

I replaced 2 Boston voyagers set up on my second zone. The Sonos sound way better I really like the app/phone control and it’s much louder/cleaner while not having to dick with wires.(you need power)

Retail on the amp and 4 4" speakers is $2k. Sub is another $1k. I would do a HEOS link for a source. Price on that is $350.

With the RDP discount you could get the whole package for just over $2k

How big is the sub? Can this be linked to my existing Sonos system so I can control everything from my phone.

You could get a 8, 10 or 12”

You would need a Sonos Connect in order to connect to existing system ($350)

A couple of these and a small Blue Tooth amp and you’ll be good.

If you're gonna go that route, I'd suggest these instead. Waterproof, floats, crazy loud and clear, a 100 hour battery life, and you can pair 2 together for stereo sound from one source. They also make smaller ones (my wife has their small one that kicks ass for it's size) that can also be paired with them.

I ordered two of those but they don't sound as good as the ION Pathfinder (and Block Rocker and others they make) because they're waterproof. If you need waterproof speakers that's a different story. The ION products are water resistant which is more than enough for our outdoor speaker needs.

My explorer outback has been to hell and back and it still sounds as good as the day I bought it. I swear by this thing and i have a ton of BT speakers.
They're on sale at sams right now.

Like Brett said there are different sizes and even a non burial version. I think the 10” takes a 12”x12”x12” hole in the ground.

Sonia connect would act as the source for the amp and let you control everything with your same app.

I kept mine simple, got a decent receiver, put it in a weather proof cabinet, got a couple set of rock speakers (100 a pair) , ran the speaker wire around the yard through PCV pipe. hook up either the XM, phone or the Echo and play away.

@paradise I've been following this thread closely as I'm weeks away from finishing my pool. I'm interested in the system paradise is talking about and I have some questions, if only I could figure out how to send a private message.

This is a good solution and it'll cost way less than the mega-speaker box and you can have speakers all over the place including Bluetooth speakers

I have two Klipsch aw-650’s mounted high under my 12 foot patio aimed at the pool. They run off a 400w amp on a channel from my Yamaha receiver. I pick up pandora off the tv into the receiver.

They rock the backyard.

If you can wait until the holidays Klipsch does a pretty good sale around thanksgiving.

Buy from crutchfeild. They match the Klipsch price with no tax & free ship.

Klipsch will ship from a local dealer and you’ll pay tax.

Buy a good quality sound bar. Mount it under the eves of the house or patio cover. We’ve had ours up for 3+ years now and it still works great and has great sound.
