Stoked to see this thread pop up as I recently acquired a 1983 20' that I'm sure a few of you had seen on here for sale. It doesnt have a powerhead currently, my goal is to set it up with a 250/300XS or a 2.5 260 / 300x (all depending on the right deal). Anyone have any setup tips as far as setback/ lift geometry? Also i dont see many with the aluminum fixed cav plates as mine does. I will start working on it as soon as my Bahner OB sells so all i can do in the meantime is plan.

Info I have is yes it was a one off mold for a customer that still owns them. I would love to know more on the hull specs. It looks like an I/O deck converted to an outboard.

Is there any benefit to having them VS trim tabs? I see a ton of different variations.

I saw yours out in parker pulling a skier early on the July 4th weekend. Very nice! I have that blue and white Bahner that was tied up next to road runner at Tommys place.

My Bastardchild 19' didn't have plates or trim tabs but it did have a bitchen manually adjustable bracket with a fair amount of setback. I can't remember off the top of my head but it's about 8-10". The boat also had a "Pad" on the keel but it wasn't done properly and will be corrected once I flip the hull over.

Funny story about it!

Years ago, they were jamming upriver in front of Emerald Cove. You could hear him coming from down river and the boat was running good. I watched as he rounded the corner and the motor sputtered and then shut down. The boat drifted to a stop and I watched as they popped the rear hatch up. Then I heard some laughter and a girl yelling "Help!" The laughter continued but she kept yelling "Help!" We hopped into our boat and drove out to where they were drifting. Todd hopped in our boat and we drove him down river to his place. He disappeared in the shadows like a ninja and came running back with a 5 gallon gas can. He was laughing too. I said "That was quick! Where did you get that?" He laughed and said "Hurry up let's go!" As we pulled back out into the river, he said he "Just took it" and wasn't exactly sure who owned it. LMAO!

We pulled back up alongside the Schiada and they tried to get most of the gas in the tank. Some of it made it, some of it didn't.



Eventually they got the motor fired up and they all sped off upriver. Todd thanked us and said they were late getting to a buddies bachelor party at the Roadrunner.

I loved the way that boat sounded with the old motor when they'd go screaming past!

I ski raced behind this boat for two years in F2. it was afun boat to ski behind, and a little wild ride for the driver and observer! There were a few times I thought I would have to toss the handles and swim up to the crew after they went in the water. The boat is a Liberty hull that was desined by the driver of the boat. Schiada layed up the hulls for him, and there is one other built that I know of with an I/O (#52 at the ski races). I also skied behind that in a race once the wakes are great, and they knock the water down good. This one had a 300 on it, and we could get just under 80 with it in the ski races.

I'm not sure if they will be there or not or if the same people still own the boat. It was always one of my favorites with a yellow and white gel scheme that perfectly complimented the Mercury colors. It's a great looking boat. Just like majority of the other Schiadas out there!
