I am wondering what is the best position for tabs (in line with bottom, slightly up, slightly down, ..) on a small cat with twin outboards to reach top speed.

This is assuming that once the tabs are set, all is left is to trim the engines at the right spot.

Any advice on this would be appreciated.

Thanks

My thoughts are the tabs should only be used to; help on plane, help keep boat level at lower speeds and help control a porpoise/ settle the boat down. I am no expert on your boat or outboards but have lots of cat seat time and I do not think your boat has a porpoise problem so that being said at higher speeds, I would think plates all the way up or level and use the jack plates and trim on motors to set the attitude of the boat.

Dustin whose handle on RiverDaves is DSHIFAN has lots of experience with your boat, PM him. He is a great guy that knows how to drive!
