I believe on a court of law that would be considered self defense. He was attacked and had to do what was necessary to stop his assailant.

doesnt matter. pretty much every employer these days doesnt want an employee getting involved in anything... go read up on attacks at people wokring in fast food, stores getting robbed, etc where the employee actually did something about it in defense. 99% of the time they're let go. it sucks, but thats just the way the world is these days. lawsuits and people not wanting to take responsibility for their actions...

I would not terminate an employee for defending themselves. Now would my employer terminate me for defending myself. Now if my employee intimated said conflict it would be a whole different story.

I see the vendor walking away while the guy throwing the first punch keeps following him. If he is holding a screwdriver it doesn't look like he used it as a threat.

he didn't.

He backed up and kept backing up until the first punch was thrown...dodged it, and hit him one time.

Maybe they do things differently in the land of litigation...:grumble:

Like. I think the screwdriver handle was still in his hand when he hit the guy, the blade end was not directed toward the dumbass instigator's face but it's like holding a lighter or a roll of quarters during a fight,..... it makes your hand 5x harder = 1 punch KO:thumbsup:D
