Old wood stove parts?

I drug this thing home from my dads house last night.
Seems complete minus a couple things.
Most important, it’s missing a leg.

The RDP mind trust have any contacts on parts for the old girl?

Also not sure about pins/hinge component for the load and ash doors, they are just floating.
Did they use screws? A slide pin of some sort?
I know next to nothing here.

Chances are the hinge pins were dowel pins that ended up seizing in place, or wore loose and got lost. They usually just hung, so easy to lift the doors off. The plate handle was usually a simple piece of wrought iron, a little curl near the tip to fit in the reliefs in the tops, maybe a twist, the the "handle".

Leg is a tough one. The screws are usually an oxidized nightmare. Luckily, yours has a broken rear. Making one from a piece of 2x2 angle wouldn't be too bad, as it wouldn't be as visible. If it would just be for display, you could carve one out of a 4x4. Rough it out with a saw, and do the contours with a flapper wheel. If you prime it, and then shoot the whole thing with BBQ black, she'd be all spiffy again.

"Welding Tips And Tricks" on YouTube...then start sticking scrap steel together. Everyone has to start somewhere. The more you do, the better you get. All yours has to do is support the weight. No x-rays or pressure tests needed

I’d really like to find “that guy” that has accumulated the pieces, a salvage guy I guess?
Seems like a niche thing.
Only actual add for one of these I saw for sale was several years old and the add was gone but still pops up on a search.

I just did the same thing before I saw your post. There's a lot of cast iron legs for sale, in groups of 4 down to singles. Gotta be one that matches his stove.

I restored the old pot belly stove that was in my grand pa's house in Cherry Valley when I was a kid. One of my white trash cousins lived in the house after he passed and somehow broke a hinge on it and then kicked it outside. I made a new hinge out of stock flat rolled steel. Can't tell the difference from the other door hinge.

Yeah my thought was 4 matching even if not original would have it up and running while looking for a single matching original.

Those legs may work?
The original legs have a small stanchion up top that sort of lock the leg into the stove base these new ones do not.

I should have taken a pic of the one leg I had off in transport.

Then there’s the fact 2 of the legs screw that hold the leg in place may or may not come out without a torch, lol.
Pretty crusty under there.

The one I did remove was already loose, some WD-40 helped it along.
It was crusty too.

It might be pretty tough to find what you're looking for. Maybe have a new one cast from the opposing corner?

I'd be looking for somewhere cold that maybe sells used wood burning stoves. The amount of stoves made is pretty broad.

I have a buddy that buys used ones out of Utah, maybe look for something like that.

That cast will be a bitch to weld to. And probably "blow out" the cast when you try and weld. Just make sure you heat the cast with a torch to burn out the impurities. Let it cool. Then heat again so it's hot(red) when you start to weld. Jmo

To weld to cast iron you need to use a Tig welder and NI-55 or NI-99 Rod. Preheat to 500ish first also
