I wanted to drop this ad again cause my car buddy is telling me I'd be a fool to pay $7K for a truck thats beat to hell and maybe worth $2K.... so what do the old truck lovers here think? Seems to me like the guy put a lot into engine but I don't know... he says it gets rubber in 3 gears. Lil hot rod beater?

71 Sportcustom. 3/4 ton. Got it when I sold my mustang when I was 19.
390 4 speed 411 posi. Edelbrock , headers cam etc.
in the dirt I drove it like a Jeep, on the street like a Z 28. Used to beat on it, man we had fun with it.

No those are factory. 1988 GM came out with the new 1500’s. OBS now. Lol. Crew cabs and suburbans stayed on the old C/K platform, renamed R/V for some odd reason. GM redesigned the grills on the old trucks to sort of look like the new trucks. Also did away with the stainless below eyeline mirrors and came up with these like Dan’s truck has.

They are the factory 90-91 electric mirrors that came on the suburbans and blazers. before i had it painted i bought the complete doors off of a suburban just for the mirrors
Thanks I was just curious because I have the big old “curb knockers” on mine. When I ordered it in 84 the plan was to pull a 40 foot fifth wheel, then I ended up buying a park model instead. I preferred the look of the “below eye line “ mirrors.

Little update on my '87 F250 with the 460 big block race motor.... picking her up in the am in Palm Springs... seller says hurry up due to Hillary weather hitting round 2pm.... He got the AC installed and it blew a chilly 57 on 2 days trial in that small cab with 114 temps outside so happy buyer. Gonna bring er back to shore and put a fancy yet subtle visually sound system in this week... no sense in attracting attention in Baja.... any of you boys in audio prefer certain systems that'd be applicable in such a small cab as this? [PS .... full disclosure memorandum.... any guys under 50 need not respond] :p🤣🤣🤣 @RiverDave

You know who ya are.... your deaf and have no taste in music. Its not your fault, its just when you were born.

Before you had it painted? So this wasn't some cherry square body that all the sudden dropped on Craigs that you spotted due to some ALERT function key? Baby you got some splaining to do...... If I knew how to post that popcorn thingy I would.... I'm up partying with G & Tees if chatting

We've ordered a new 1500.
Will be here around Feb we're told.

What's our 2000 2500 HD 4WD Crew cab GMC worth?
8.1 gas w/Allison properly maintained.
165K miles and everything works.
HD cooling.
Loose here and there, checked paint.
All leather.
Bench front seat.
Runs good. Like the day we bought it new.
Taillight guarantee.
Would be a great launching vehicle to keep at the river.

Can't have 3 trucks so selling this one.
What's it worth?

The 8.1's still seem to bring decent money. I don't know how fuel cost may effect that currently though in CA. A guy from San Diego flew out here during covid to buy my neighbor's. It was pretty clean, but a 2500 2wd. The guy said he wanted something that could tow his toy hauler a couple times a year. Perfect for that. The problem is, not many for sale, so hard to find "comps".

I bought this awesome old ford a few years ago for hauling junk around the yard. V8 with 4 on the floor. Ran like a Swiss watch. Interior was perfect. Outside was hammered and it looked awesome. Sold it to buy a 48” refrigerator. Always regretted it.

She's one hot mess... I picked up my 87' F250 with a 460 race stroked engine today and I'm in love.... took some neighbors out for some PCH burnouts and everytime I parked her I had to have a beer and a cig. Like sex.
I can see why you love em... Duallys are the shit but my garage in Rosarito is no bueno for that wide ass.

Any stereo recommendation? I'll be looking into that this week. I have a installer shop i'll use but could steer him towards a specific mfg at his shop rather than have him steer me.

Mirrors are off getting polished. 47k miles. Everything works. A survivor for sure. New tanks, fuel pumps, selector valve, A/C freon updated switched over and works great. New tires, real alcoas, just need to throw center caps on.
