Does anyone remember that picture of a truck towing a drag boat on a trailer through the desert and the parachute comes out pulling the boat off the trailer? The caption I think was "oh shit".

This was back in the early 90's probably photoshopped too. It'd be cool to have that up in the garage on the wall.

I've searched for it on the internet over the years.

Yes, someone on here has a source for those. I think it was shot on the 210 fwy before it opened. "Shit Happens" was the title.

As a kid growing up in Glendora, that was my favorite TAH "Bad Blood". The picture was taken at the end of the 210 fwy before it turned into Foothill Blvd. I would love to have one of these posters too!

Just seeing the picture online brings me back to a kid. Everyone of my dad's boat buddies had this poster in their garage!

Mel was a Badass.
The entire 1/4 mile TAH field back then was really something to see.
Varner, Capaldi, Keyes, Kirby, Kincaid, etc.
It will NEVER be the same....

Check out those 80s hairdos. It was all about a fluffed up permanent. Guys wore them too, hence the phrase "hair bands".

Band names with umlauts were cool too.

Alfalfa is farmed on half of it. The other half is still a lake. Eastern Municipal Water District pumps water into the remaining lake, then the water soaks underground where it is “stored.”

As I recall......Was shut down around 1970 or so and then reopened for a while around 1980. I was there for drag boat races about 1980, was not NDBA but some other association. I would be surprised it was still open around 1982 as I recall they had the 1 race and that was the end. As I think about it, you may be correct 1982 not 1980. Anyway that general timeframe.
Wish it was 1964 running the wood Hallett pictured in the poster....Them were the days of a growing sport the "Golden Years"

My buddy bought his Rogers 18 in '83, we skied there quite a few times with it. Lost a cam there too racing a guy with nitrous...we still beat him.

I'd need an RDP one made from scratch. I do love the shirt you gave me though and wear it all the time!
