new restaurant in Lake Havasu if you like Poke Bowls! Some friends of ours just opened it on Friday! It’s right next to El Padrino the new pizza place in the Bashas parking lot.

Make sure when you stop in you tell Racheal or Jeff that RiverDave sent ya!

Really stoked for them and how there new business turned out!

When you walk in you start at the back and then work your way forward to the register. They are setup right you will see if you go in there.

Wish them luck, but I have a strict no fish policy in Havasu after my oldest and 4 of his friends all got sick eating Shuguns one night (they all had seafood)!

I am the same way. Something about sushi in Havasu never sat well with me. I hope they do well, I love Poke bowls.

You do know Havasu has an airport right? Planes can land there from all over the place and bring stuff.

Pretty sure a little Poke restaurant or even Shogun for that matter, can't afford to fly in fresh fish.

I have no idea and tend to stay away from sushi in places like havasu. But we have a place in SLC that is some of the best you will get anywhere.

I'm pretty sure most sushi/sashimi is flash frozen on the boat then transported. Something to do with guaranteeing any parasites are dead.

Havasu is a little different scenario, but honest to god the Sushi place in Boulder City here has better fish than most places i have been to in Newport/Huntington etc. Granted that Las Vegas is just 20 minutes away and probably the largest single importer of fresh fish in the country. But havasu is only a couple hour drive, easily made by a delivery truck from Vegas.


There is a resident sushi guy on the boards isn't there? Wicky maybe?

Not really that kinda place. They do have chicken. I did the spicy shrimp and it was good, the sides are very sushi style based though.. Crab salad, seaweed salad etc..

Mine above was the spicy shrimp, crab salad base, ginger and pineapple.

I don't eat any seafood other than lobster and shrimp so I was iffy on the crab but it was good (right on the edge of seafood for me) the rest was ginger and pineapple of which I like both, so it was good.

I'm more of a steak and potatoes kinda guy, but this place is right up Stacy's alley and people that like sushi etc..

Racey is spot on. Commercial fish is frozen right away. As long as its been handled properly along the way there wont be any issues.

in CA there seems to be a poke spot on every other corner these days, so competition is high and there are definitely some good ones. I'd say this spot nailed it on quality, selection and flavors are good, price is on the high side but going back to the location and lack of competition probably not so much. Definitely a solid poke
